June 28, 201015 yr I have pretty much been flying flights of no longer than about 1:15 and as I want to start to do longer flights, I have the following question. How do you handle the case where you want to fly from say LAX to DFW and you don't want to sit in front of the computer for 2 + hours? I think you can set a "stop/pause" point at some point in the sim, or compress time, but how do you get all the frequencies/changes handled and acknowledged if you don't set the auto-reply function in Radar Contact?Hope this makes sense.Thanks.John

So I pause it at say 200 and then come back an hour later and want to take over. Can I take back control of the comms from RC during the flight? Sorry, no manual in front of me at the moment.John

I fly my Airbus from KCLT to EDDF quite often. I know that the bus drivers get to take turns napping going over the Atlantic (boring time). After leaving my last land report, (I have a save for "just in case") I put my finger on the "Pause" button after setting 16x until I get to 200 miles from Shannon, with no problems and save again at Shannon, where the wife hollers "come to bed!" (and she doesn't even use an Irish accent). The only thing to watch for is wind shear. When we are passengers on that route for real, she sleeps on my shoulder the entire 8.5 hours, while I fly the route on my lappy <grin> I could use a "start in the air" feature with RC, like the one using the FSX "Map" feature, but this works just fine. August 22, 201015 yr I know about sitting in front of the computer for hours is boring, but I fly the LDS 767 with RC at normal sim rate. I turn the comms over to RC, I have the AP on and my trip set in the FMS and then have RC pause at 200 miles. With auto reply on, I can walk away do things around the house and come back every now and then to check that my pc is running OK.On trans-ocean flights which I am doing again tomorrow night, KBOS-LFPG , after I level off and things are OK, I am either off to bed or watching TV, there is nothing to do over the ocean for hours, but again I am flying at 1X sim rate like the real guys so and I am not wasting time in front of my monitor. :( Bob
