Long Distance CTDs

Featured Replies

When flying long distances you're obviously not going to be around the whole time, in fact it would be nice to let it run overnight. However my PC (Win 7, Intel Quad Core 2.4 Ghz, 4Gb RAM) keeps going into hibernate mode and when woken up the flight reverts back to start. Can anybody suggest a workaround for this ? :(

You could always configure the PC not to go into hibernate mode... should be under power management...Andrew

Start - control panel - power options. There you will see link like "Change when the computer sleeps". There you will be able to choose settings for battery and "plugged in" supply modes.

Ah, now I know where to look ....It's even better than the suggestions above. Win 7 enables you to create a customised Power Plan, so I now have the "normal" plan where the screen goes off in 20mins and the computer goes to sleep after an hour, and now my special "long distance plan" where the screen goes after 1hr and the computer never sleeps! :(
