Aerosoft has an Africa Mission Addon, where you fly over herds of animals on many missions to please tourists on board. I believe the entire premise of the addon is a safari but on the air.

If you have an Object Placing program such as Instant Scenery (from Flight1) you can place any of the default FSX animals wherever you wish.

Easiest way would probably be either Flight 1's 'Instant Scenery 2' or their 'Instant Mission Creator' utility, which would also do it with a bit of effort. The former being the obvious choice. Of course Flight 1's stuff has a refund policy if it doesn't ring your bell, so ultimately, you could check it out to see if it does what you want. Both of those utilities are a doddle to use by the way, and if all you want to do is add default scenery objects, then it is certainly the hassle-free way to go.A slightly more complex solution would be FS Add On Publishing's FSX Mission Editor. There is a free chopped down version of Mission Editor available, although the full version is more capable. It has a bit of a steep learning curve in comparison to the Flight 1 Mission creator, but it does have a nice 'flow chart' interface that is good for complex mission design.A bit harder, but ultimately a more flexible way (and free) would be using the FSX SDK which comes with the Deluxe versions of FSX. The SDK of course would need to be installed, but that's simple enough. Be prepared to do a fair bit of reading up though to get up and running. There are one or two freebie 'object placers' kicking around the 'net, some better than others, but the last time I used one of those, it bombed FSX so badly that I had to reinstall the whole program, so to say I'm not a fan of the freeware ones would be an understatement LOLIf you just want to stick some animals and stuff in there, I'd go with Flight 1's Instant Scenery 2 if I were you.Al

mmm good ideas. the problem though with IS2 is that the animals placed wouldn't move would they?If I would use the Istant mission maker - I could get those animals to move as I fly over correct?what I'm trying to do is to put some animals in the FTX PNW scenery and then be able to do animal flightseeing - I guess they wouldn't have to move, but it would be kind of fun, to have them scatter if you get to low.I have a good computer system, I might just have to get that africa safari addon and just go down there and do it, but I'm just really lovin' the FTX PNW stuff right now! wow!

What is nice about that African Airstrip Adventures (apart from the fact that is is a great add-on anyway), is that the animals can be a bit elusive and do seem to exhibit pretty realistic behaviour. If you are the sort of person who likes to tinker, what you could do, is open up the missions which come with that, in one of the fancier mission editing utilities, and see exactly how they have gone about creating all that! And yes, if you want your animals to move about a bit, you're probably looking at creating a mission, but with the Flight 1 Instant Mission Creator, it actually isn't that hard (it'll take you about ten minutes to suss out how it works) and is pretty good fun too when you get into it.Al
