July 3, 201015 yr I fly for AvA (www.joinava.org). I have downloaded their free md-83 from the AvA fleet which I believe is the SGA MD-83 that was released in 2003. I had to tweak a couple of things but overall it has been working just fine. Anyway, when landing the last couple of times I have been unable to lower the landing gear even though in the cockpit the landing gear lever is down and the lights show they're down and locked. An outside view shows they are not lowered. Any thoughts from anyone concerning this would be most appreciated. Bob Bressert
July 5, 201015 yr I believe that this is the usual problem of using the older version of the SGA MD-83. The old FS2002 model had problems when running on FS2004 or even FSX models, probably caused by a config error on the aircraft.cfg file. I didn't have problems running the SGA MD-83 on my FSX. July 6, 201015 yr Author Hmmm, thanks for the reply. I guess the version I use isn't the "older" version because it is the latest version from the American Virtual Airlines website. I would think they have the latest version. Bob Bressert
July 7, 201015 yr For the definitive answer of whether or not the MD-83 is up to date; check the date modified on the Aircraft.cfg .air file, panel.cfg model.cfg and .mdl Paul Gluck. July 22, 201015 yr Still, whenever you're using the old models, there's always a chance of the slight gear fix on the aircraft.cfg, including the contact points. What do you mean "slight gear fix?" Also, what section of the aircraft.cfg are the "contact points" located? Bob Bressert
