Best IFR Aircraft Panel

Featured Replies

Well, since none of my 4 DF aircraft will work with Windows 7 64 bit, what is a good other aircraft for IFR use? I still run FS9. I need very fluid gauges, GNS 430/530 and HSI type panel would be nice. I am not at all computer literate and need something ready to download and install, ready to be up and running like the DF stuff was. I can't swap gauges, reinstall and such. Any other developers out there with similar aircraft? I use the sim primarily to help maintain real world instrument proficiency. I had the Meridian, Cherokee, Baron, and BE36. They covered all the bases and were great. I'll take any one aircraft right now. Thanks.

I have heard very good things of the Digital Aviation Cheyenne. I'm not sure if it's the thing you are looking for, but here is a link:http://secure.simmarket.com/aerosoft-onlin...-download.phtmlIt is for FSX and FS2004.

You might wanna try the flight1 C172R. You can also install the "Century Triden Automatic Flight Control System" (also available from flight1) if you'd like a more modern FD equipped ADI and HSI (the installation is pretty straightforward). I personally use this to assist with maintaining my IFR proficiency, and I find it to be a pretty good bang for your buck. Not sure if it's compatible with windows 7 64 bit though. Hope this helps.J.C. (MYNN)ASEL,AMEL Instrument Airplane

Thanks for the suggestions. Windows 7 64 bit is the issue. However, for whatever reason, the DF BE36, as saved in a previous flight from FS9 when on the old computer, actually works pretty good with 7 64bit, but without the GNS430 functioning. Saved flights with the BE58 or Cherokee don't. The Baron has only black holes in all the radios and instruments and the Cherokee has Reality XP written across the face of all the gauges. The Meridian just won't reinstall. Why they each respond to 7 64bit so differently, I don't know. So for now, the DF BE36 seems like it will do and the default GPS500 works ok in it. I might add, I cannot create a new flight using the BE36. That freezes up everything.

I second Benjamin on his suggestion of the DA Cheyenne. May I suggest the marvelous Aeroworx B200 as well? In my opinion, the Cheyenne, the Aeroworx King Air and the F1 ATR are the most superb turboprop airplanes for FS

Thanks guys. I mostly just need an excellent 2D panel with clickable instruments to enlarge, very fluid, and somewhere in the medium General Aviation performance catagory with that type equipment. I seldom use flight sim for other than instrument flight proficiency, flying approaches at the various airports in the local area. If I'm going on a real world trip I will sometimes fly the route and look at destination airports first on flight sim. And of course, must be known to be Windows 7 64 bit capable now. Thanks.
