  1. Been away for a long time. What aircrafts are now available that will work with FS9 and Win 10 and have the most fluid/smooth action panel and flight instruments? I only use a 2D panel and do so for just IFR procedures practice. Reality XP had great stuff but quit working after my last computer upgrade. What do you recommend for my need now? Thanks.
  2. I've been off here for a long time. Just wanted to check and see if the older Dreamfleet aircraft (PA181, BE58, BE36, and Meridian) Reality XP GNSs still do not work with 64 bit Windows 8.1. I assume no, but having been gone for so long, maybe it has been corrected...... Thanks. And.....will those four aircraft install in FSX even if the Garmin equipment doesn't turn on?
  3. Ronzie. Thanks for all the good info. I do have it set as you mentioned to run as administrator. I uninstalled the PA181 and its other associated files and re installed. Same thing though...pink gauges. I am puzzled that the BE36 and BE58 don't install like that. They are ok. Anyhow, I'll keep exploring and working with it. Thanks again. roger
  4. Reference my beginning posts, I'm at the following. The Dreamfleet BE36 and BE58 are installed and other than no RXP GPSs functioning, they other wise seem to be working ok. Additionally, I do have the RXP GNS430 package. However, numerous attempts to install it in those three aircraft have failed and only made things worse. I'll just just the default GPS500 as needed. The PA181 installed but has pink gauges with RXP across the face of each. Also, I did notice this issue. If I do not set the default C172 to load first, or reload between switching the Dreamfleet aircraft, then when loading one of the Dreamfleet aircraft FS9 shuts down. So, since all I need are fluid gauges on a typical GA type aircraft, 2D, I guess I'm good to go for now. As previously mentioned, all I use FS for is flying approaches throughout our local area. This is very effective for maintaining good IFR/IMC familiarity for the real thing. If anyone has any suggestions for additional GA type aircraft that have the Dreamfleet/RXP quality gauges and could be used as I do those, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. roger
  5. I went ahead and tried installing. The BE58, PA28, and BE36 all installed. However, the BE58 causes FS9 to shut down when selected in aircraft . The PA28 has pinkish gauges with Reality XP written on them. The BE36 appears to load and work correctly, but without the GNS functions. I have the additional Reality XP GNS430 package. I installed it. It does not load correctly into any aircraft. On two of them it does show where the GNS would be, but with a black hole. I tried loading my Quest Zodiak. It appears to load correctly but does not show up in FS9 then. Needless to say, not much luck with these programs and Win 8 so far.
  6. I've been away from my FS9 program for quite a few years. Since last time, I now have a Win 8 computer. I installed FS9 on it and it appears ok. However, I had the Dreamfleet PA28, BE36, and BE58, Piper Meridian along with the Reality XP panels, and I still have the registration codes, etc. I checked the Dreamfleet web site, and if I'm reading correctly, those aircraft are only for Win XP or less. Is this correct? I am not a computer guy at all and need easy installation if those aircraft are possible still. Anyone know about this issue? If those aircraft are no longer usable, what would be a good aircraft with smooth, fluid gauges (2D is fine), and maybe some glass. All I really use FS for is instrument awareness around our local area. Thanks.
  7. Thanks y'all. I'll take a look at all of them. roger
  8. What is the most fluid motion glass cockpit instrumentation available for purchase? And which aircraft (prefer GA type)? I use FS pretty much only for simulated IFR flight, 2D, local area instrument practice. I have the Dreamfleet and Reality XP stuff which is great. But want something that moves me up towards Garmin 1000 or similar. My real world Aeronca Chief is fortunate to have a Garmin 196. Thanks.
  9. If you are using a no CD file, instead of the original FS9.exe, you need to replace FS with the the original file first. Then reinstall the FS9.1 upgrade. That made a similar issue I was having this week finally recognize 9.1 and work. Then you can find a FS9.1 no CD file to use if you wish to do so.
  10. When I was a controller at ORD in early 80s, North Central was flying their 580s in and out of there all day. They were very flexible in that they could "slam dunk" and keep their speed up as long as needed until close in. One of our controllers married one of their 580 pilots. North Central sometime later in the eighties became part of what became Republic...which later became part of NWA......for all of you younger folks.
  11. Does the SF260 for fs2004 install and function correctly with win7 64 bit? thanks.
  12. I see you're Pa address. I ferried a 150 hp Super Cub from Tennessee up to somewhere in Pa a few months ago. It had tundra tires. First time I had ever flown with them. Kinda wierd on pavement.
  13. Thanks guys. I mostly just need an excellent 2D panel with clickable instruments to enlarge, very fluid, and somewhere in the medium General Aviation performance catagory with that type equipment. I seldom use flight sim for other than instrument flight proficiency, flying approaches at the various airports in the local area. If I'm going on a real world trip I will sometimes fly the route and look at destination airports first on flight sim. And of course, must be known to be Windows 7 64 bit capable now. Thanks.
  14. Thanks for the suggestions. Windows 7 64 bit is the issue. However, for whatever reason, the DF BE36, as saved in a previous flight from FS9 when on the old computer, actually works pretty good with 7 64bit, but without the GNS430 functioning. Saved flights with the BE58 or Cherokee don't. The Baron has only black holes in all the radios and instruments and the Cherokee has Reality XP written across the face of all the gauges. The Meridian just won't reinstall. Why they each respond to 7 64bit so differently, I don't know. So for now, the DF BE36 seems like it will do and the default GPS500 works ok in it. I might add, I cannot create a new flight using the BE36. That freezes up everything.
