April 4, 201115 yr All the reviews I've read of the three available aircraft packages for fs9 by RealAir simulations (the spit, the taildragers, and the sf260) are so overflowing with praise that I honestly can't decide which one to get. "Get them all!" you say. Unfortunately, I can only afford one at the moment. Can anyone who owns more than one of the three packages compare and contrast them? Or if you just have one, can you mention SOME kind of flaw that might help me decide?I'm mostly trying to decide between the two GA aircraft packages, but I could be talked into the spitfire. Thanks in advance.

April 5, 201115 yr I have the Scout package and the 260. Both are great and neither really has any flaws, so it depends where you want to fly it I think. The scouts are slow in comparison to the 260, so if you want quicker cross-country hops go for the 260. On the other hand if you want low and slow bush flying, go for the scouts.

I have a soft spot for the Scout as I learned to fly in a Champion Citabria many years ago, but the 260 is a real hot-rod and fun to fly too - it is like a choice between a 'go-almost-anywhere' 4-wheel drive SUV and a sports car! I would agree with the above - it depends on what you will primarily use it for, but you won't be disappointed with either!Bill
April 5, 201115 yr I've got both packages as well. I would have to say that the SF.260 is my personal favorite, since it is far more versatile for FS purposes. It's slow enough that it can be flown VFR easily. It's fast enough that it can make cross countries go by quickly. It's also stable enough to make IFR approaches fun. It also gets excellent FPS, and the VC still looks nice after 5 years or so. That is not to slight the Scout. If you are the bushflying type or own Tongas or Misty Fjords, the Scout is definitely the way to go. Joe Sherrill
April 5, 201115 yr Sounds like the SF260 gets the vote but I will tell you that the Spitfire is outstanding too. And along with it, you get a WWII scenery (West Malling) with period AI traffic. The good news is that you can't go wrong with any of them - they really are all outstanding products
April 7, 201115 yr Does the SF260 for fs2004 install and function correctly with win7 64 bit? thanks.
April 25, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the recommendations. I purchased the SF260 and liked it so much that I broke down and bought the Scout package as well (no willpower). I've been using FSEconomy, so the Scout is a bit more useful. But both are a blast to fly. With both the SF260 and the decathlon, I've been having fun with the freeware Moffett Field Airshow Scenery by Ian Radcliffe. It has a pylon racecourse and a bunch of other goodies. What's fun is to use FSRecorder (another great freeware utility) to record a flight, and then playback the recording as AI aircraft so you can race yourself around the pylon course, or do formation acrobatics!
April 26, 201115 yr Hi all,I've been on the fence with these packages also for a long time. I just got the Aerosoft DA20 Katana4X and now I am considering both the 260 and Scout, but only want to get one of them now and one later as simming time is limited these days. After all the years here at Avsim, I do have to agree that you can't go wrong with either depending on your aircraft needs. OT....@ Joseph Sherrill: I thought I was one of the very few Ferg fans out there! Great show! Have a good night everyone. :)Warm regards, Jeff
