July 22, 201015 yr I've got the enviro slider to 100. I get wind and rain but no thunder. The thunder wav files play outside the sim....and yes I've got the weather set for thunderstorms and it's very active. Any suggestions??
July 22, 201015 yr Have you tried deleting your cfg? Then allow fsx to re-create one.Hope that helps. MSFS
July 23, 201015 yr Check your sound sliders within FSX under options. There is a separate one for Environment I think. Bring it up louder.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
July 23, 201015 yr thanks, ill check it out...it also might be the sound settings of the PC...there are two sound outputs, sound card and HDMI.

So then I went to ground level in the tryke for testing. My sliders are engines 20%, cockpit 40%, enviro and voice 100%. The thunder sound was not playing. I traced it back to my system using two audio outputs. When I told FSX to use the stereo plug output and not the HDMI I could hear the thunder but it wasn't the loud thunder crack I was expecting.
July 24, 201015 yr Ok....so I think I got it narrowed down....it seems like the WIND sounds from the environment are jacked. Most of the time they play at 90% and overpower the other environment sounds, like rain, ground rumble, and thunder
