July 28, 201015 yr For last few weeks I had issues with JS41 AP disconnecting quite often. I calibrated the joystick numerous times, adjusted deadzones and still no improvement. But today it was a complete disaster. First during taxi brakes and rudder weren't responding all the time and then when I was on approach to Rome at 4000 feet, capturing localizer and suddenly AP disconnected and aircraft went to violent roll. I managed not to crash (by about 100 feet) and landed safely. The Flight Keeper reported max bank angle 154 max descent 18 000 fpm and max pitch 34 degrees. The reason: stupid wireless joystick. In calibration it wasn't responding as it should until I removed and put in the wireless dongle for it. Besides, to save battery the bloody thing goes to sleep after couple minutes of inactivity, then you have to either press a button or move it quite vigorously. It seemed like a good idea not to have cables across my living room when I fly, as my little kid just loves to pull anything out of USB port, but now it just makes me want to throw this stupid thing out of window.Grzegorz Furmanski
July 29, 201015 yr Yeah, i had logitech cordless joystick before and although it was quite good and stable it went to sleep every 2 minutes or something of that sort and when it did it would go to full throttle and try to crash your plane :( Cords are a little more problematic but in the end its a lot better, especially when it comes to joysticks. July 29, 201015 yr Commercial Member Same poor experience here with Logitech Freedom Wireless joystick. And I doubt it is Logitech specific. Maybe they should implement some sort of option in the driver to stop the thing from going to sleep. That would of course be at the expense of battery life.Gerald R Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
July 29, 201015 yr I truly believe, that on/off switch on joystick would be enough, and I have no idea why it's not there, so simple, so efficient...
July 29, 201015 yr Author Mine is Saitek. I've also noticed that if I move it slowly enough it won't send any input to my PC, I checked it in calibration screen. And when the damn thing goes to sleep sometimes pressing buttons in not enough to connect it to PC, have to pull out the battery. But when it's working OK I can't say a bad word about it, if only it did all the time.Grzegorz Furmanski

August 2, 201015 yr My CH has an odd problem where if the computer goes to sleep mode, and then comes back up, it loses connection. But, its an easy unplug/replug and life goes on. Since its entirely an outside of FSX thing, it never bothered me, though. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers
