Non US and Europe Airline Routes?

Featured Replies

I usually spend my time flying in Europe and the US, and I would like to start flying more in the rest of the world, like Asia, or the Middle East, or South America, but don't really know much about those parts of the world, anyone have any recommendations for some of those flight? Or even where I can find routes online for those flights?

As much as it is a total rip off name-wise, I would recommend taking a look on the Russian 'Avsim' site. There are lots of freeware add-on scenery and flights there for Russian and former Soviet states, but you can also find things such as collections of flights around Africa, the North Pole, Nepal etc, etc. Just be sure to look top right on that site and click the 'English' version, or you'll have to brush up on your Russian. Also, I would recommend flying something with either good range, or short field capability, since if you fly in places like China in FS, it can be a long way between suitable airfields for large jets. Also worth a look is Aerosim's site - http://www.aerosim.co.jp/eigo/page1_e.htm - They do a lot of scenery and flights in and around Japan. Some of their aircraft add-ons actually come with airport scenery included in the package, for example, you get some nice scenery for Shimojishima Airport with their FSX Boeing 777, and most of them come with some flight plans. One other particularly useful thing on their site too by the way: If you scroll down to the bottom of the product page and click on 'waypoint coordinate search', you'll find a nice little utility for locating waypoints and nav aids on routes you are planning. It's pretty cool.Al

As far as routes go, I'm not sure if your flying airliners or G/A, but if your flying airliners you can use this site http://www.vatroute.net/web_showfp.php?list=dep to pick your departure and then it will give you a choice of arrivals to fly to, as well as the flight plan.I can recommend you and flights for the Middle East, but for South America some of my favorites are:BrasilSBGL to SBGR round tripSBRJ to SBSP round tripBoth of those flights are enhanced if you buy the Air Bridge Rio pack from Tropical Sim which includes all 4 airports.I also like to fly into and out of Toncontin in Honduras provided you own MTHG from Latin VFR. I connect to this airport from Mexico City, Miami, San Salvador and the airports in Brasil I listed. You could also do like I do and open Google Maps and just start looking at the earth and seeing what looks like it might be interesting. I also will go to Wikipedia and look up foreign airlines to see where they fly and then duplicate some of their routes.Hope this helps and gives you some ideas.
