WMKK "Building crash"

Featured Replies

Hi. I use the great WMKK addon scenery found here at Avsim. One problem though.. Whenever I try to park at a jetway gate (near any building) I get "Building Crash", and the sim restarts. I have to choose "Ignore crashes" in order to park properly. Sounds a bit like a conflicting AFCAD but all I find with ScanAFD is:AF2_WMKK.bgl, WMKK_SIGNA.bgl and WMKK_SIGNB.bgl .Don

Johan, S..t like this happens with some sceneries. I have no idea what might cause it this time. All I wanted to say is that 'Ignore Crash' is the first thing I check after reinstalling FS9.I see absolutely zero use of having crashes ON. So you might consider having it OFF permanently and all those errors are only bad memories.Probably not an answer you wanted, but food for thought.

I agree about turning off crashes. If I actually hit something I know it well and don't really need the sim going crazy. In most cases I think the issue is that there is an invisible crash box that exists around each scenery object. When compiling the scenery it is possible to turn off detection of the crash box, which in most cases is probably the right answer. But I suspect many developers and testers have crash detection turned off so they don't realize when a crash box has been left active.scott s..

Interesting thoughts guys.. And you definitely have a point. FS9 is in no way good at damage simulation when it comes to structural damage, which would be the most likely result of a collision. So turning it off might be an idea. However, I did experience "Building Crash" WITH crashes turned off yesterday at WMKK, just after loading up my FSPassengers! And that is supposedly impossible, right? :( /Johan
