August 4, 201015 yr Hi everyone,i have a big problem after reinstalling the MD-11. Sorry my english isn't the best but i try to expain it to you.Last week my FS9 and the MD-11 worked 100% normal. Sadly i decided to set of a fresh install of my OS and ... here I am.Nearly done with all the installation work but now the Beauty of the skies :) didn't want to fly again.I think the MD-11 installation goes badly wrong and some files are missing.here are some pics to give you an impression of the problem because i really don't know what goes wrong :(1.the initiation of the Cockpit seems to be wrong. no greenline on top, instead the "oldstyled box" in the middle?2.all displays are black?3.a massive loss of vc texturessome info about my systemWin7 32bit all important updates installedMS Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0.30319MS .NET Framework 4 Ext. ( didn't know if it's necessary?)FS9 and Update 9.1FSUIPC reg. latest versionMD-11 Installer V1.10.0050 and Update V1.20.0055I installed the plane without problems and because I had already installed MS Visual C++ 2010 I skiped the one of the PMDG installer. It was MS Visual C++ 2008Started FS9 checked the plane and :( what's gone wrong?I uninstalled the plane and tried again without sucess. then I tried to reinstall with Visual C++ from the installer, again no sucess. Now I really don't know what to do and hope that someone here can help me solve this problem.I also found this TopicMD-11 Topicwhich described exectly my problem, I think, but the solution didn't work for me.To delete the FS9.cfg and let FS create a new one at startup.best regardsJan Holewik
August 4, 201015 yr Hi Leffe, uncheck all the NANNY security in Win7? I never heard of that and really don't know what this is.I had Win7 32, FS9, PMDG MD-11/747/737 installed and operated the last year without any problems, at least no mayor problems ;)I reinstalled the plane and Visual C++ (tried everythink MD-11 with and without patch v1.20.055 Visual C++ 2005, 2008+upd. and 2010) several times, i haven't count how often but I think I tried from 10pm to 2-3am. After every action I performed a restart.I think that I installed everything the right way and also uninstalled the right way.best regardsJan Holewik
October 15, 201015 yr Sorry to revive an old thread but I had the same problem and solved it by going back to the original default flight file. (C172 at KSEA)It seemed the modified default flight interfered with the PMDG MD-11 gauges causing them not to initialize at startup. This resulted with the transparent VC textures as the gauges control VC lighting. Other bizarre issues included fuel loading causing fuel to be filled at 46000% of capacity.

December 31, 201015 yr Hi folks,I really didn't know what was the solution, but last week I tried to reinstall the MD-11 again and et voilà all is working now :(
January 1, 201115 yr Hi Jan,As Mr. Chan states, be sure not to have any advance payware add-on aircraft as default flight. That seems to cause a lot of people problems.Glad you got it sorted out, this is my favorite aircraft to fly! Sander Rutte
January 19, 201115 yr Hello all,I just bought my MD-11X. After the installation my computer shows 4 models in FSX, but when I try to select one of these... FSX crashes to desktop.Any hints are very very welcome to solve this problem.Yours sincerely,Wim H.

Is FSX installed in the default location? (It shouldn't be for any OSS after XP!)Right Click on your FSX icon and check 'Run as administrator' is checked. Then - if necessary - reinstall MD11 Paul Smith.
