August 18, 201015 yr I've been itching for some time to get a decent MD-80 add-on for quite some type but never got around to purchasing one. Unfortunately, Mad Dog 2008 is no longer being sold and I don't know if my system will handle Mad Dog 2010.I'm running FS2004, otherwise I'd also consider the Super 80 Pro (the FS2004 version looks like it might not be as good).I've got a P4 1.6 Ghz, 4 GB of RAM, and a Radeon 9000 onboard graphics card (running WinXP SP3). For reference, the PMDG MD-11 runs smooth as silk for me (I'm ok with frame rates in the 20 range). Will the Leonardo Mad Dog 2010 bring my system to a crawl?
August 18, 201015 yr Maddog 2010 isn't that different from the 2008 version. They made some bug fixes and added some new stuff, including an analog panel, but essentially it's all the same stuff from the 2008 version. Looking at your specs, and if you say the MD-11 works okay for you, than I don't think you'll find that the Maddog will be any worse, or any better for that matter, performance wise. The Super 80 is an aircraft that is known for its great performance, but personally I hate the completely flat VC, which is why I went for the Maddog. I really like that VC. only performance issue I have with it, is that the system stutters heavily for two seconds or so when the textures in the VC are loaded. Once this is done, FPS returns to normal, which for me is in the thirties range. August 18, 201015 yr I'm not any kind of Guru, but if PMDG MD-11 runs fine on your system, Maddog should run fine too.I've never had any performance problems with it.
August 18, 201015 yr Morn'n,I have the CoolSky Super 80 Classic and I like it a great deal... It's a blast to fly... Something about those small blade like wings on the MD-80's really attracts me to the plane... I just wish those Cielosim guys produced a few more of those high quality skins for FS9... I guess I should give the Mad Dog version a look when I move to FSX - although I'll be tempted to stay with CoolSky Pro...Regards,Scott

If anywhere, then try the Maddog out in FS9, me thinks. You buy it for one version, you get both, so you can try it out in both FS9 and FSX.
