HELP! I'm on fire....

Featured Replies

This is a strange one I can't quite figure out. Seems some pyro-maniac keeps torching my Dauntless while I'm off flying other aircraft :( When the plane first appears after loading it's awash with flames and smoke. Call 911 LOL.gif Steve

It may be one of those addons that require you to start up with the default Cessna first, have you tried that?
Yes, I have tried that with no success, but thanks for your reply. Steve

I've noticed this with the PMDG 747 and I believe FSX displays this behaviour when it's not happy with the resource load. I know the 747 is a real resource hog and so is the Vertigo Dauntless. Try loading the EFM model which has a much lighter resource load.

Also try starting FS fresh. This has happened when switching from one complex plane to another.

From the manual, p. 5: "Pressing the ‘All Lights Toggle’ or ‘Smoke System Toggle’ keys can trigger enginedamage effects, but not the damage model itself."Try toggling "All Lights" (l key) and Smoke System (i key). If it's the lights, turn on lights selectively with the VC switches.

Yes, it was the (l key) and it WAS in the manual :(. What is still confusing to me is that the plane "loaded" in this state. I didn't have a chance to even press any keys :( Anyway, all is good and thank you very much sir :( Steve
