August 23, 201015 yr My textures, before they are rendered, are very dark and you get a distinct straight line defining rendered and non rendered and looks terrible. Is there a fix for this? Hopefully you see the examplein the attached image. Thanks for any help. Keith Sandford.

Is that correct ?If so I would guess is that the mips images levels have differentcolouration - the photographic textures tend to be hand modifiedto get colours correct.
August 23, 201015 yr Commercial Member Have you changed your detail1.bmp/detail texture for anything but the default? if so try the same area but with the detail texture option on/offive seen this before with some highres details maps that dont have the right grey lvl balance/blend and due to that they end up effecting the tone of the underlayer texture maps http://shadeforfsx.blogspot.com/
August 23, 201015 yr Author I did change the default grass texture for a high resolution one, PREALSOFT - GRASS ENVIRONMENT PRO Xhttp://secure.simmarket.com/prealsoft-grass-environment-pro-x.phtml Could this be the problem do you think? By the way, this problem happens with default scenery too. Keith Sandford.

August 23, 201015 yr Commercial Member yep that will be the file to blame then, and yes it will effect every default texture also as the detail bmp gets blasted over the top of every mesh ground textureid either ask the dev to fix it or failing that ask for my money back and use of of the many freeware detail maps out there LatersGizmo http://shadeforfsx.blogspot.com/
August 24, 201015 yr Author Excellent news, thanks guys. Only problem, I never backed up the original. Is it possible to find the original on the FSX disc? Keith Sandford.
