  1. Look for the /x:ON comment in your Limiter batch file and change it to /x:OFFor push F12 insim to switch the FPS info offhope that helpsSteve
  2. Hey guys Just a headsup that 1.02 is now live on the Flightsimstore Server1.02 change log is as followsAdded the ability to load just light\shadow\fog values from a preset to allow for mixing and matching across different presets Added a much better "Custom" Colour picker to the palette roll outs, this new picker allows you to grab pixel colours anywhere on your current desktop(click hold over the eye dropper icon and release to pick a value)using this will allow you to quickly pick/tweak values when building your own presets you can also use it to grab colours\tones from images of sun rises/sunsets,im sure once you have a play with it you'll see how much better it is than the default windows colour picker in 1.0/1.01More info in the manual on these changesAdded a few more presets (look in the new in 1.02 presets folder) for ppl to try/tweakIm going to get a few small user "how to" videos made and thrown up on youtube later this week,i had intended to get that done this week but the weathers been so nice i spent far to much time tending my chili plants ;) Again thanks for the support you've shown me and each other when using Shade :)Cheersstevesteve
  3. Humm gonna check this out when i get back on the desktop PC,i guess its worth a months fee upfront to checkout and see how far under the hood i can stick my nose ;)Cheerssteve
  4. Not sure about forcing extra AF levels but im pretty sure you cant force any higher lvl's of AA with the DX10 pipe as any overrides are ignored by FSX/D3D API under DX10so your stuck with only the Aces forced mode which as i recall is about x4 it the main reason i stopped using it and went back to DX9
  5. Wow Great Shots....number 3 is a realy nice pic,Dam with all the stuff coming out for FSX these days i can only guess M$ delayed Flight to try an catch up! looking at these they got a hell of a job to do!(pimp mode on)nice to see my little progy poping up in your list of addon's :) many thanks for your purchase & support(hope you grabbed the newest 1.01 installer at flightsimstore)btw is that one of the default presets or self made custom/tweaked values?
  6. I have a G15 also and see no change in AM with/without shade runningif you want to email me with your flightsim store details i can provide support via email and try and figure out the problem....but if you got Shade somewhere other than fss who knows what the hells been injected into the installer or exe'esand who knows wth it might be doing to your system
  7. Not sure why Shade is having and effect on your AffinityMask settings,it makes no changes to the fsx.exe or .cfg files i dont & have never seen this on my own test system(s) and have'nt had any testers or other users report this problem to me,any chance its just a coincidence with something else you've installed recently?
  8. Hey Guys From what i can tell FSX'es ambient night lighting is linked to its Moon Phase,so if you fly on a night with a full moon or near full you get quite a boost in ambient night lighting, kicking your days forward/backward a few till you see no moon will effect this ambient value,if i find a way to control this i'll be sure to add it to shade in a future update (no promises thought)Laterssteve
  9. Hey Guys Just to let you know that 1.01 has gone off to FFS this might take a while to pop though as were in diff timezones me being in the UK them AU It a full replacement package (a whopping 3.5 mb!)as i also hate tracking down patches for stuffChange log for 1.01 is as follows Set & forget:feature added so now you can burn in your values an not have to use shade/shade_nl.exe to see them insim (more info on this is in the updated manual)Extract To Preset:Allows you to pull the current lighting\shadow\fog values from FSX for each day and wack them into a preset for tweaking (more info on this is in the updated manual)A Button/Link to the Shade support forms at Ozx has been added to the "start stuff tab"Last loaded preset now sticks for each day between GUI reboots A set of new/tweaked presets (in a new for 1.01 presets folder) again you might need to tweak these to suit ;)Other tweaks to some of the GUI elements (alignment) & a button on day4 that wasnt updating its current Shade valueI have a few more features planned for and upcoming 1.02 release(a much better custom colour chooser being the first) but these might take a week or 2 to get in/out due to other Work commitments and having to ready the Ozx Goose HDRedux paintkit for release I'll try and pop in when i get chance and have a look at the dark clouds thingy,i think this is because some replacement addons are not sticking to the cloud layout as described in the SDK (I.E. putting puffy clouds where wispy clouds should be ect)or over darkening the base cloud textures,i need to do more checking but this might explain why some ppl see it and some dont For VC shadow tweaking try Morn/Noon/Afternoon shadow values of around 70-75-80 those should help give a good balance of VC darkening & terrain shadows(or just turn on your VC lighting ;) )Can i also just ask again if your going to fire me support mail that you add your order details to it first, mail without it will either be ignored or you will just get a mail back asking for your details Again thanks for your support here & i hope i can continue to tweak/add features that make Shade easier for you to setup & use I will have a Shade supporter banner comp coming up soon for Shade customers and im hopping to offer a Orbx region/airport as a prize (or 2) and maybe a video comp to win something like a Trackir or a Yoke or someother FSX related hardware,if you have any prize suggestions plz shoutCheerssteve
  10. Hey guys Let me throw out a few shade blog links that might help out overly dark vcs durning the dayBlackout & batch filesGetting better/more detailed terrain shadowsOk back to readingLaterssteve
  11. Hey guys Bare withme theres a lot to get through here and at a few other boards! First off let me express heartfelt thanks to everyone sofar for all the positive comments/feedback/screenshots and support you've shown me/Shade and each other so to you all of you Many Thanks /Bow @David Roch: Tut tut for not backuping, that said i knew this would happen so i slipped an autobackup into set_and_forget,if you havent already just run the main shade.exe and a "restoring from unexpected exit" box should popup and restore the backup S&F made before temp installing the current values, once that done exit fsx/shade and restart the shade GUI for tweaking if that doesnt work PM/mail me and i'll try and work you up a quick fix for you.S&F is unsupported atm and will get added/supported in 1.01 (as well as a few other tweaks/presets) i do work full time (not as an FSX dev)so it might take me a week or so to get it all in and testedOk going to got re-read this thread and the few pages added since last night,i'll make a number of posts as i go along some might just be a redirection to the shade blog where ive already made note of a few things ppl have mailed me about Cheerssteve
  12. Hey Guys Got a few connection issue here atm due to some freak weather thats blown in(i already lost a post worth of info due to the router dropping)so i'll have to get around to making a post tomorrow morning on some of the points raised here, again sorry for the delay in responding :(CheersSteve
  13. Gizmo replied to a post in a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
FSX still has some life left in it yet no dout, theres still stuff in the shader code that can be tweaked/improved (in looking at tweaking the cloud tinting atm)and as new hardware has really let ppl up the eye candy and still maintain good FPS for me its become the sim i always wish it had been at RTM i guess the only things id love to see make it into FSX are cloud shadows and Crepuscular rays (that said i am a GFX **) Laterssteve
  14. /Bow Many thanks Kind sir :) Gonna take a read of this tread from the top and see if i can sum up a few points help out with some stuff that been raised that may have slipped through the cracks in the manual or been explained badly (soz for that guys but i really really hate writing manuals, you see its a constent battle for me due to my dyslexia, using Word does help some but i can sometime struggle to get a piont across or phrase things correctly so i hope you can overlook a few of my spelling/gramma fubars ;))CheersSteve
15. Hey Guys Many thanks to all the ppl who have purchased Shade sofar and for sharing options/info & posting some fantastic screenshotsIve just asked for my Avsim profile to be updated to that of a 3rd party Dev then i will jump in and chat with you guys Till then Thanks again Steve AKA Gizmo PS i know the manual is a bit of a slog but bare with me and i'll try and get some compare/usage videos made, trust me it is much easier to see how it works than try and explain it!
  16. Hi Avsim Could you let me know how i go about updating my forum account so im listed as a 3rd party FSX Dev?Ive just released Shade and would like to comment on the discussions here at Avsim about the product, but dont wish todo so withoutbeing listed as the programs devYou can contact me either Via PM here at Avsim or via email at [email protected]
  17. Hey James Give this a read it it seems it will allow you to setup up ENB to use a proxy location for the other d3d9.dllhttp://enbdev.com/doc_proxy_en.htmHavent tryed it myself as since moving to an i5 oc i run totally unlimted,i just remembered reading something about using multi .dll's with enb the other day so thought id post the link for the info Hope that helps you outSteve
  18. Hey guys Not default textures but heres a shot of Shade in FSX using GEX textures @ dawn in soc-cal (with a slight bit of bloom from ENB (just bloom no darkening or toning) I'll try and roll out some promoshot with diff scenery addons and update the shade blog with more info (its way out of date) in the next few days or so (im pretty busy doing up & selling a house atm dont have much online time) btw Program is pretty much all finished & im preping the userguide and some preset light ramps to get ppl going but it shouldnt be more that a week or 2 now i hope LatersGizmo
  19. The void your seeing in DX10 rain is because of an incomplete shader file its not the way it works its just brokenthis was brought up by myself & fixed by Christian Buchner quite a while back back up your Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ShadersHLSL\misc\Rain40.fx file then open the orginal Rain40.fx with notepad and replace everything in it with the following code and save next time you run FSX it should notice the fixed shader file and recompile for you fixing the void //------------------------------------------------------------------------------// Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. All Rights Reserved.//------------------------------------------------------------------------------#include "Rain40.fxh"struct VS_INPUT{ float4 vPosition : POSITION; float4 cColor : COLOR0; float2 TexCoord : TEXCOORD;};struct VS_OUTPUT{ float4 vPosition : SV_POSITION; float4 cDiffuse : COLOR; float2 TexCoord0 : TEXCOORD0; float2 TexCoord1 : TEXCOORD1;};VS_OUTPUT VS(const VS_INPUT In){ VS_OUTPUT Out = (VS_OUTPUT) 0; Out.vPosition = mul(In.vPosition, g_mWorldViewProjection); Out.cDiffuse = In.cColor; Out.TexCoord0 = mul(In.TexCoord, g_mTextureTransforms[0]); Out.TexCoord1 = mul(In.TexCoord, g_mTextureTransforms[1]); Out.TexCoord0 += g_mTextureTransforms[0][2]; Out.TexCoord1 += g_mTextureTransforms[1][2]; return Out;}float4 PS(const VS_OUTPUT In): SV_TARGET{ float4 cColor0 = txTexture0.Sample(samSampler, In.TexCoord0); float4 cColor1 = txTexture1.Sample(samSampler, In.TexCoord1); return float4(1,1,1,In.cDiffuse.w) * (cColor0 + cColor1);}DepthStencilState EnableDepth{DepthEnable = TRUE;DepthWriteMask = ALL;DepthFunc = LESS_EQUAL;};DepthStencilState DisableDepth{DepthEnable = FALSE;DepthWriteMask = ZERO;};technique10 T0{ pass P0 { SetVertexShader(CompileShader(vs_4_0, VS())); SetGeometryShader(NULL); SetPixelShader(CompileShader(ps_4_0, PS())); SetDepthStencilState( DisableDepth, 0 ); }}
  20. Hey PelicanHazard Ive done a few repaints for the EC-135 myself and i made note of this phenomenon in my readme'sNotes: DX9 users who wish to run with there Bloom setting on while using this repaint must rename/remove the Fresnel_ramp.dds file from the texture.vhesc dir (in your case replace this dir with the one for the repaint you have the problem with) before using with this custom repaint as the EC-135 will glow quite badly if not. This due to a problem with the EC-135's model and how it handles Fresnel mapping under DX9 only nemeth designs can fix this problem!Hope that helps LatersGizmo
  21. It Might have been faster for you to just ask Google the first reply for "fps cost of fsx water slider" should give you all the info you needhttp://blogs.msdn.com/b/ptaylor/archive/2007/06/08/fsx-tip-of-the-week-water-slider-and-fps-costs.aspx
  22. Hi atf300 Many thanks for your reply :) Where to start! hehe Could you tell us how the 6970 performes when you start to put the load on it,things like Orbx/FEX/GEX/UTX with extend terrain LOD(above the default 4.5)HD textures with full on cloud draw distance, full autogen/water effect/bloom& does it stuffer from any kind of autogen spiking or texture flashes slow texture loading, what the hit/quality for diffrent AA modes is like and if the anisotropic filtering is upto snuff (ive read that it has a few morie problems with autogen buildings)Reading all that i think it might be a bit of a chore for you to get through and a bit to specific to my own FSX use/needs/wants,i think i might just have to buy one and drop it in to see for myself!CheersGizmo
  23. Hey cenkcnk I have the same question, its been a few years since i last owned an ATI card(4870) and for the 8 months i owned it i had major problems with and type of heavy cloud cover in FSX,i tried quite a few time to contact ATI both via there driver feedback program there own AMD/ATI gamer forums and also at Rage3d's fan forums, but i got stonewalled at there offical site & told by one of there forum mods (sprye) at rage3d that ATI were'nt going to re-write there drivers just for one FlightSim with a crappy game engine,in the end i just gave the 4870 to my sister so she could play the sims on it and brought a 260gtx(which i have and still runs FSX at 1920x1200 very nicely)Im quite interested in getting the 6970 for maybe moving to a dual/triple screen (something that a 6970 will done without having togo CF NV's only option for triple screen is to go SLI & dont want the extra noise and powerdraw from SLI)So if anyone out there has a 6590 or 6970 and runs FSX with the lastest tweaks and stuff like Orbx/REX/UTX/FEX/GEX ect ect we'ed love to hear how FSX runs for you and if heavey 4096 clouds still drag FPS into single digits (id also love to see some MLAA shots of FSX)CheersGizmo
  24. Why not just check the comments on the linked youtube video? it tells you in the 3rd post down what it is and were to get itI Still think the Ozx version is better thought btw the above scenery you asked about is on special sale atm.....
