September 12, 201015 yr Hi Guys,This is maybe not a new topic but as a newbie I thought I would give it a trawl.Does anybody know how to make approach lights display in daylight using FS9? I can only get them to show at dusk or at night. As a retired air traffic controller I know that they are deployed in daylight at varying intensity. Very useful when landing into sun for instance or in bright but misty conditions. Thanks anybody.Dave (regulator)
September 13, 201015 yr Hi Dave,This is one of the most interesting questions brought to this FS9 forum in the last times.Maybe I'm wrong, but the switching of the rwy lights is hard coded in FS9 and tied to dawn, dusk and night time or to some very low visibility conditions only.Perhaps one expert like David Opa can provide more information about it. signed: José Luis

Both these programmes include daylight viewing approach lights ! So it can be done........somehow.dave

So it can be done........somehow.daveIt can definitely be done. There are freeware titles such as EPWA by Mateusz Stabryla that uses NAV2 frequencies to turn on/off the appr lights. Pretty sure it's done with .bgl file coding. Not a scenery design guy so the best bet is to plunk this question down in the scenery design forum. I'm sure you'll get all sorts of info. Greg Guerinot
September 13, 201015 yr I was going to say it's not possible but indeed you get the lights on in low visibility during the day. Perhaps there's a way of forcing this switch somehow.
September 13, 201015 yr In the add-on scenery it only works, because the designers made a effect which is called like "UK2000 app lights.fx"Maybe it helps to overwrite the DEFAULT approaching lights effect with the effect, from the add-on scenery...But I don´t know where the DEFAULT effect is located :/
