Black Flickering on Guages
I have a similar issue with the Sky Decks CRJ Panel but it only affects the chronometer face - which is black. I also run Win 7 64bit. Anyone else seen this? Thanks.

approach lights (Calvert etc)
It can definitely be done. There are freeware titles such as EPWA by Mateusz Stabryla that uses NAV2 frequencies to turn on/off the appr lights. Pretty sure it's done with .bgl file coding. Not a scenery design guy so the best bet is to plunk this question down in the scenery design forum. I'm sure you'll get all sorts of info.

For every instance I've had of this it hasn't been raining but it was close to dawn.

FS2004 is 7 years old !
There's something to say about a seven year old software title that other software authors are still selling addons for. Happy Birthday FS9. For the original FS9 developers - you have created a legacy, thank you.

Captain Sim 727 Updates for those interested
I'm having trouble disengaging heading mode on the AP mode when intercepting the LOC. I have to turn the AP rotary mode switch to APPR mode then back to NAC/LOC to drop out the heading mode. :( I just purchased the 727 v2.4. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Big PMDG MD11 better flying then small Wilco Embraer 190?
Nothing wrong with you my friend, the PMDG is a better product. One of my favorites to land.

The LDS767: Old but still a winner
Answer to number 1a: Good 1b: depends which PMDG product, but yes.Answer to number 2: Don't know, only have the STD version.Answer to number 3: YES!!! I have both and once I flew the MADDOG, I never reloaded the Flight 1 product. Not to say the F1 MD80 is bad, it just doesn't compare IMHO. The MADDOG has one of the best VC's ever made.Sorry, went off track a bit. The LDS767 is a legend - one of the first aircrafts I reinstall when reinstalling FS9.

out of RAM
Negative - I've got FS9 (with several addons) on my sytem with W7 64 Pro and it works just fine. Visit the W7 OS pinned thread on this forum and it has all the tips and pointers you need to run FS9 smoothly.

PMDG done with FS9?
Attitude? I wasn't the poster dis'n folks because their system isn't up-to-snuff. I was simply saying I prefer performance (and that includes stability as well as speed) over enhanced graphics/eye candy. I have FSX on my PC now and run it nearly as often as I do FS9 and when it comes down to it, I prefer FS9 performance over the extra features and enhancements of FSX - a matter of opinion, that's all.

PMDG done with FS9?
Uhhh, my system isn't exaclty a p.o.s., besides, there's folks like yourself that have invested huge in a top-o-the-line system and are still struggling to get FS9-like performance and I'm guessing, no matter how much 'reverse engineering' occurs, it ain't ever gonna happen. Thanks for the lesson in socio-economics.

Wha? Don't let people from Buffalo hear that!

Screen artifacts after installation
This is supposed to get fixed in the next SP, which I haven't seen an E.C.D. for. Dawn/dusk texture-blending is a contributor? I haven't heard that. The thread says that if you disable the icing effect it doesn't happen either, but I haven't tested for that.-Greg Guerinot

Windows 7 updates killed my cfg file
Sorry everyone. Kind of a false alarm. I reset my PC again following the update (yes, I did reset once before) and all is fine now - so sorry if I short-cycled anyone. :( -Greg Guerinot

Windows 7 updates killed my cfg file
Just updated Windows 7 with the latest critical updates and my cfg file was wiped out. I've done all the usual things where I deleted the cfg, ran FS9 to rebuild a new one and replaced all my old settings but no go. The other really weird thing is that FS9 did not build a new cfg. It seemed to run without one so there's a rogue cfg somewhere on my PC - have no idea where - and when I edit the one in C:\users\my name\app data\roaming\microsoft\fs9, none of the changes are recognized. So obviously, that is not the one that FS9 is using. Anyone out there having or have had this problem? I also tried the registry fix from Flight1 and that didn't help. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.-Greg Guerinot

Texture flickering / flashing
I'm glad I'm not the only one having this issue. It usually occurs for me when I load the aircraft at Heathrow (Aerosoft version). I use TrackIR 4 (software version 4.1.037) as well. The only way I can get rid of it after it occurs is by restarting FSX. I have seen this phenomenon before (or at least something similar) with Blueprint's KMEM - any aircraft. I also use PFE. I've monkeyed around with my BP settings and what not, but haven't turned off icing - why would I? - it's way cool, and part of the reason I purchased the JS4100.Specs: W7 64 bit, FSX SP2, AMD Phenom II 3.1GHz, Asus M4A77TD, 8 GB DDR3 MEM, NVidia 250 GTS 1 GB

What are we Recommending in a Defragger These Days?
I use Smart Defrag by Iobit. Freeware and works just as good as the payware program I was using. Has an optimizer that will consolidate most used programs. Go to Iobit.com for more info.-Greg

Super 80 Pro Feedback
I'll second that, a much better simulation. Most system are modeled and has an outstanding VC, if you're a VC flyer. The only drawback is that the VC textures take a while to load when switching views but it operates pretty smooth otherwise.-Greg
