September 14, 201015 yr Hi all,It looks like PMDG is not selling software any more. I spent the last hour logging in, putting four items in the "shopping cart", but when I click on "checkout", the page refreshes and says....wait for it... Your cart is empty.Tried four times, in two different browsers, and exited browsers completely in between attempts, and dumped the browser caches.:Cry:Did I miss a retirement announcement? Or, on a slightly more serious note, is there somewhere else we're supposed to get PMDG products? I've been buying all their excellent sw from the site since 2007?Any assistance is really appreciated!Terminally bewildered, dan davison --Dan "lensman" Davisonrs
September 14, 201015 yr Hey Dan, What browser are you using? I know people have had issues with google chrome and I think I've read issues with firefox. If you're not already, use IE and try again. Also, just to make sure you know, you need to restart IE after you dump your browser cache.Best of luck, i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
September 14, 201015 yr Author Hi Dan,Thanks for the heads-up. I tried Firefox 3.6.9, and Opera 10.62. I don't use IE, and haven't for almost two decades. I suppose I could run it in Sandboxie or a virtual machine, and destroy it when done. I looked at Google Chrome shortly after it first came out and it was unusable given my medical issues at the time. It's good to know that I'm probably the problem (PEBKAC) and not PMDG selling through another route. Oh, PEBKAC == Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair. (I did tech support for bioinformatics software for several years in another life). Thanks again, and I'll keep trying. As you have probably guessed, I'm still trying to work my way through the PMDGSOUND.DLL problem. I have successfully made it worse, as I now have no working PMDG aircraft. September 14, 201015 yr I had that problem on my last purchase, dumping the browser cache fixed it (IE). Bill Howard
September 14, 201015 yr Author Dan and Bill,Yep, thanks! That fixed it. I ran IE in Sandboxie and was able to place the order. I also put in the tickets, so hopefully in the next few days I'll have some a/c to fly!I really appreciate the help!dan davison --Dan "lensman" Davisonrs
September 15, 201015 yr I'm always glad to help someone that's first name is as cool as yours, Dan :( i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
September 15, 201015 yr I had the problem a couple days ago with Firefox. I cleared the cookies and cache and then restarted Firefox and it worked fine. Tom Landry
September 15, 201015 yr I don't even know what cache is. I hv CCleaner and I know it keeps things clear. Would that do it? But My problem says my carts full. How do I empty is to I can get going?Tim
September 16, 201015 yr Author I don't even know what cache is. I hv CCleaner and I know it keeps things clear. Would that do it? But My problem says my carts full. How do I empty is to I can get going?TimI've had this problem, too, when the J41 was released. There was only one item in my cart, the J41 download. Believe it or not, I deleted everything from the cart, emptied the cache, exited Firefox, and rebooted. This was on Win XP Pro SP3, but I have zero idea which version of Firefox it was. It was also before PMDG switched to the new web sales system. I'd strongly suggest doing what an earlier poster recommended: Fire up IE, go to Internet Tools, clear the cache and cookies, exit IE, restart IE (or better, reboot the computer), get back into IE and place the order again. I found that Opera 10.62 also worked. I've had such bad experiences with IE that I'd rather use smoke signals than that browser. Lately however, I have safely used it with Sandboxie and inside a VMware Fusion virtual machine running on a MacBook Pro with a (legal) 32-bit Windows 7 OS. Sandboxie is free at download dot com and filehippo dot com, and is really easy to use. Sigh, now to go start a new thread. I re-installed the MD-11 and 747X successfully, The rear half of the 747X is buried in the concrete at the gate, and truing to take off. With the engines and all power off. The MD-11 is doing the blank DU thing, has no liveries displayable (they're installed and "show variants" is checked) and multiple MD-11 DLLs can't find PMDGOptions.dll, PMDGsounds.dll, and so on. So it goes.dan davisonI don't even know what cache is. I hv CCleaner and I know it keeps things clear. Would that do it? But My problem says my carts full. How do I empty is to I can get going?TimHey Tim,Sorry, I forgot to say that CCleaner will automagically delete cookies and cache for most browsers unless you tell it NOT to. Be sure to run the registry sweeper too. dan davison --Dan "lensman" Davisonrs
September 17, 201015 yr Author I'm always glad to help someone that's first name is as cool as yours, Dan :(Yep, having such a cool name can, at times, be hard to live up to, but so it goes!dan davisonp.s. I think my parents were having fun with naming their offspring. "Daniel" is usually (wrongly) translated as "God's judge". My brother's name is Michael, "God's Sword". "Dan-el" is apparently "one-who-judges-for-God". The proto-semitic root of "judge" can mean "king or ruler", or one who "evaluates, decides". I definitely am not "king or ruler"!!! --Dan "lensman" Davisonrs
