After a half year with good function with the J41 and many flighthours online with VATSIM suddenly the FMS-Display remains dark - without function. My system is XP PROF and FSX PROF.I´ve done troubleshooting with all. New installation FSX SP2 and J41. Registry cleaning and all things without succsess. PMDG answered with the known advice - FSX start with default flight and then handover to J41.But no solution - everything is tried, but the FMS Dispay is still dark. At moment I fly the J41 with VOR- navigation only without the FMS.In several internationals forums I´ve read about that problem - but no real solution was reported.It seems a deep systemfailure and PMDG has no answer...........

Well, if it was working for six months and now isn't any more, it is not likely to be a problem with PMDG's software. Something has changed in your installation - can you think of any particular addon you installed around the same time you noticed this problem?

Have you changed anything in the Configuration Manager after last install of J41?

Thank you guys, for your help and support.Yes, some perfomance changes in FSX cfg have I done before the FMS-CDU remains dark.Right now, today., therefore I have made follow steps:- J41 deinstalled with all liverys- in FSX an empty "Gauge folder" deleted- the registry cleaned with Tune up utilities- the FSX.cfg renewed- J41 new installed ( from AEROSOFT CD)- FSX startet with default glider and then switched to J41but nothing..........the FMS remains dark...So, I think the only one step is to reinstall the hole FSX with all addon (?)( I hope not ) thanks for further support

Maybe try this FSX Registry Utility. Use forum login/pass to get access.

Is there a glassga.ttf font in the Windows/Fonts directory? If not, that can cause the non didplay of the FMS.John Ellison

Grzegorz and John , thank you for support.I´ve tried the fsx registry utlility. I think, the registry entrys are ok.The glassga.ttf are 3 times in:Windows fontFSXFS9but the FMC remains dark, all other PMDG`s works fine.I think, its a deep issue for the PMDG Developer........best RegardsLothar

I'm not sure if it's exactly issue with J41, of course the result is that it's FMS is not working but something had to trigger it, especially if You were able to run it for six months. You can try e.g. running Your J41 by double clicking the tutorial saved flight file in Documents directory, this way the aircraft is loaded directly without default trike, and check if it helps somehow. I have no idea how many addons You have, but if nothing works I would try reinstalling whole FSX.

Hi Grzegorz,are you a magican or is it a miracle. It works! Yes, it works that way. Thank you for the great tip.I have tested three times that way. Then I changed over to another airport and reseted the fmc to the new location, fine operation. Is it metaphysic ??
