September 22, 201015 yr Greetings -I have Windows XP sp3, FSX sp3, FRAPS, FSRecorder and a Logitech headset with mic. Can anyone tell me (or point me somewhere) how to add my voice as I record video clips with FRAPS? I saw on the FRAPS site that they added a *record external sound* feature for Vista and W7 users, but I can't seem to do it with XP. A search of this forum didn't turn up any pertinent info that I could see. Any tips would be appreciated.Thanks.Bruce

Bill Bloodworth and I are trying to make a DVD tutorial on VOR to VOR navigation for our Dec 4th get together in Castle Rock. We need to record in sync with the cursor movements--- so recording voice sound separately, and adding after the fact, would seem much more difficult. Windows Movie Maker has a narrative feature that would do what you are suggesting---I believe. I'll try that next. Thanks ---- and hope to meet you in Castle Rock!Bruce

(Due to pressure from the RIAA this option was removed in Vista. Not sure about Win 7) With it you should be able to play both the sound of the sim and your voice at the same time and record it. I did it that way on my ILS tutorial video. I used GameCam though, so I'm not sure if it will work that way with FRAPS. I think it should though. The only caveat that I found is if the headset connection is USB you may have a problem. I also have a MS headset, that is USB, and has it's own drivers, and does not interface at all with the SB driver. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

My head set is in fact a USB and I do not have a dedicated sound card. I have tried all the settings in the control panel and in the game and nothing works. I'll keep playing with it though I don't think it will happen. I've watched a number of your videos---excellent! Thanks.Bruce
