Real life AA 767 stories

Recommended Posts

I wanted to share a link to a very interesting read on the famous KJFK Canarsie approach. It's on a competing website, but I hope its ok. I have shot this approach plenty of times, and was curious about the best way to approach it, and how the RL pilots handle it.Its from an retired American Airlines 767 captain, and his detailed storytelling gives incredible insight to how the pros do it. I tend to use flightsim for freeware I can't find here on AVSIM, but it appears they have great content as well.http://www.flightsim.com/main/feature/canarsie.htmMake sure to also see the bottom of the page for additional stories!

Anthony's been writing those reports for years at fs.com!I always read them. It's funny you say a competing site lol... I browse about 4 flight sim sites in total and make posts in all of them - I suggest other users diversify themselves tooAvsim isn't the only source of FS information ;)

Agree with Ryan - diversify. We're all better off for it, with shared knowledge and a cooperative vs competitive mindset.

AJ-Nice post thanks....fun approach. On that topic, also try the localizer-only approach to runway 27 at KSAN (San Diego) in marginal weather or at night / dusk. No glide slope! You have to step down your altitude based on DME while maintaining the localizer that puts you perilously close to a poorly-located parking garage near the runway threshold!http://204.108.4.16/d-tpp/1010/00373L27.PDF
