VOX Demo Flights

Michael.I did have GA2 enabled when I ran that test. The test I just did, I set FSX traffic to 100% Took off from EDDK without Vox ATC enabled, and every thing looked quite normal. Not much traffic at all. Then setting FSX traffic back to 0% and enabled Vox ATC with my normal 20%. The squawk code for me was 3326 (normally 3016- 3020 at most other airports) and the sky was lit up with traffic and Vox in general just runs very sluggish. It takes a long time for the info screen to change after responding and it is hard to get a word in sometimes as it is so busy. I did not uninstall Vox for this test as everything is running so well right now (apart from this airport) and it is not worth it to me to mess things up. But if you feel it must be uninstalled to give a fair test, then the next time there is a new version of Vox to update to,I will run this test again before installing the new one. If there were other people responding to all this with the same problem, then I would be happy to continue to try and track it down. But it seems it is just me,and to be honest,I have so many airports to choose from that I will never miss using EDDK.Thank you so much for all your help with this Michael, I do appreciate it.All the best to you.Dennis

Michael. This is a different question and if you prefer ,I will start a new post. The question is, When using my Win 7 drive,on approach to LFPG / Aerosoft (Paris) I have the option of requesting a full ILS approach, but on the Vista drive that is not available. This happened a short while ago and I decided to reinstall Vox ATC and the problem was solved, full ILS was available. However I just landed there and it was no longer an option again. I ran the indexer and tried again but no go. What do you think is wrong here? Thanks.Dennis

Dennis,Do you see other options than Full ILS?

Michael.I just get the options for ILS or Visual,no full ILS is available. This is at all airports not just LFPG. I did a reinstall of Vox ATC, and all is well again. I am just not sure what caused this to happen,as I said this is the second time I have come across this problem. May be it has something to do with that mysterious EDDK file that I was taking out and putting back sometimes, but I really don't know. I will keep checking on it for a while, but as of last night everything is back to normal. I do come up with some strange ones don't I? Speaking of strange ones...May I ask you about SID's and Stars. specifically Vox's ability to remember them. A long time ago,I was learning to set up a SID and STAR flight, and as a temp measure I gave it the "name" ZZ. Now I sometimes name and save my flights AA or ZZ just because it is quick and I can just erase it at the end of the flight as I do not save any flights anyway, but Vox remembers these names, even though it is no longer a saved flight, and every time I call a flight ZZ, Vox tells me to use the SID and STAR for that test flight. I know the solution is to not use ZZ anymore, but I was wondering if there is any way to erase it from it's memory. I can change it to what ever I want, but I can not get rid of it! Sorry for the two separate items Michael, but if you have a answer for either one I will be grateful. P.S When I removed Vox ATC last night, it would have been a good time to run the test you requested at EDDK but in my excitement I completely forgot. Sorry, may be next time. All the best.Dennis

Vox ATC stores the files created for a SID / STAR procedure in a hidden folder. You will need to enable viewing hidden files in your Windows control panel. In XP the folder is located in your user folder; C:\Documents and settings\user\AppData\Internal Workings\VoxATC\userprocs. You should find the troublesome file there and just delete or remove it. Good luck.

Michael.and dbrucem.Wow, I am impressed. Thank you so much. I found the file, deleted it,and I can use my ZZ again. And I learned something!!!!After I reinstalled Vox ATC, I noticed that it responds to me on the first try again. For a while now I have had to start Vox twice on my Vista drive before it would hear me,now it is just like my 7 drive and responds right away. I have been wondering why and when this happened on my Vista drive, and now I think I know. After the install,I went for a short trip to test everything out,and everything was perfect..........Until my computer crashed! It has done this before, I can't remember when, but after restarting it, Vox was back to it's old tricks again, and needed to be started twice. So I uninstalled it again, and reinstalled it once more, and everything is fine again. I always make it a point to disable Vox before quitting my flight as I don't think it is good to have it active when I close the flight, and I think that a sudden meltdown like that must do it no good. I just wanted to share this with you,and anyone else that might read this post,as it may be useful to know.Once again, thank you for your help with all these little problems of mine, and may be I can leave poor Tegwyn in peace when the next drama crops up. I will certainly have confidence in this forum in the future. All the best to you Michael./ dbrucem, and all.Dennis
