crazy wind shifts...help

Featured Replies

For weather I use Active Sky Evolution by HIFIsim. I have also used REX 2.0 weather generator. I have a registered copy of FSUIPC by Pete dowson. I need help with setting up my sim so that I can fly with winds aloft. Here is what I understand about this problem. HIFIsim blames the problem on PMDG. PMDG says its not their problem. Some people say its just a general problem with FSX and simconnect. I think that is true since these issues happen with all weather generators I have tried including FSX's real weather. At this point I don't care what I use. I would just like to be able to fly this aircraft with some form of weather and wind. Please share your insight as far as your exact settings in ASE or REX as well as wind smoothing settings in FSUIPC. The only way I can fly in the sim with this aircraft is by disabling all winds aloft and disabling turbulence basically disabling everything related to weather...which pretty much sucks. Thanks,Guthrie Zuehlkessn: 542-76-3209status: Marriedaddress: Littleton, COSalary: $50,000-$75,000Political affiliation: IndependentEmployed: yesDOB: 8/14/76Favorite Movie: Donnie DarkoMaking fun of PMDG's forum rules: yes :)

I use ASE and it drives me mad every time I use it. Basically turning off DWC does the trick but... ASE tends to loose control over my destination weather. It's basically this way: I depart happily and joyfully, fly the cruise, start my descent and ooops! - winds XYZ/30-50kts on final (winds aloft). I gotta bring up ASE, manually refresh the weather and hope the shift that's coming won't be brutal.

I use aggressive wind smoothing in FSUIPC limiting it to 1kt/deg change per 8 seconds.

Hi!I had the same problem like usmc3073. The sudden windshifts are much stronger if you are flying the concorde from FSLabs. But after reading this http://forums.flight...fsuipc-and-fsx/my problems with heavy windshifts are gone. Try it and you will see, that your flights with the MD-11, 747 or the Concorde getting more smoother. RegardsMartin Flecker
