October 10, 201015 yr People have seen some inprovement but mostly in image quality the FP/S increase is minimal. Not really worth to much money, but if you like having the newest hardware, a GTX460 is a great deal for the performance (230$)

There are tons of them out there.http://www.guru3d.com/article/ecs-geforce-gtx-460-black-review/http://downloads.guru3d.com/Forceware-260.63-Win-Vista-|-7-(64-bit)-download-2618.htmlenjoyjja Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist

At a minimum get a 470GTX or better still a 480GTX.
October 11, 201015 yr Keep your 275, no 400 series performs any better than your card in FSX. My former 5770 and 260 performed exactly the same than my current 460.FSX is CPU limited with any of those cards, and that of course includes the 470 and 480. I remember when Bojote switched to a 480 from a 280 and reported "not a single extra frame". I've seen many others post the same resultsAs Luckyman said, you may be able to achieve a bit better IQ, meaning you will be able to run 8xS FSAA with a 460, but the difference is hardly noticiable and if you can already run 8x FSAA a fermi is really no use for you unless you play other games

Also, my (hot and noisy) ex-285 couldn't clock over 625core. The (cool and quiet) 460 can easily do 900. October 11, 201015 yr Thanks for the link jj, I'll try that out. Do you see any benefits in OCing the GPU in FSX and what do the new drivers have to offer please?I have a 850MHz OC profile with 1.037V but I get many artifacts in FSX and no performance boost, so I run my 460 at stock. What core voltage do you need for that 900MHz OC? A 460 is the way to go if he does upgrade - especially if the latest drivers will be used. My former 5770 and 260 performed exactly the same than my current 460.The 460 is not even close to a 480/470 in FSX, it is however closer to the 260 that you owned and is perhaps why you seem to perceive 400 series cards will be the same. 460 is a budget card.

And to bad there's no such thing as the GTX485 yet

October 15, 201015 yr Any difference between the 768MB GTX460 and the 1GB GTX460?I was looking at EVGA cards, and you can get a 192-bit 768MB 460 for $180. A 256-bit 1GB 460 is $235.Any thoughts on performance with these two cards? (FSX is my only computer performance concern.) ___________________________I'm just flying for the fun of it.
