September 17, 200322 yr Kurt,I "lowered myself" to actually turning on the Garmin GPS in FS9 and I can categorically state that this unit is a "butchered" version of the real stuff. The quality of graphics, maps is horrible, some important features are missing so no wonder people can't find much use for this instruments. So the GPS like everything else in FS that relates to aircraft panels is unfortunately done to fairly low standards. So you either have to live with what you have or perhaps purchase the Reality-XP gauge. There is some freeware GPS also. No, I would not use the GPS that Microsoft included in the box.Michael J. September 17, 200322 yr Thanks for telling me. I guess I will break down and buy the Reality XP version and hope for the best. That's a shame that Microsoft screws this up. It would have been better if they hadn;t have a gps at all or at least the old one. Is the GPS guage that is freeware in avsim per chance? Also do you think Reality XP will create a FMC? What other venders would you suggest to have a FMC. In case you haven't noticed I really am an avid simmer who likes reality that is close to flying a real airliner. Thanks again for trying the GPS Michael. I guess that confirms my feelings that I just can't use it or use the bare abilities because it is a very slimmed down version of the actual GPS should be.

September 17, 200322 yr >guage that is freeware in avsim per chance? Also do you think>Reality XP will create a FMC? They are rumored to have started on the project but nothing is definite. You should rather go to their forum and pick up more info.I am afraid I can't tell you more about the freeware GPS - by using the search you should find more info about it. But I can only tell you Reality-XP's GNS530 works (and looks) exactly like the real thing.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
September 17, 200322 yr Author . . . "exported" from the Garmin to the aircraft's radio by the hit of a button or somehow? When you set up your selected approach and go to the NAV page you can scroll down to see the rwy options and their frequencies, but nothing I do moves them to the radio for actual use--so I end up closing Garmin and manually entering the numbers . . .Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync.
