737 NGX vs.MD-11

Featured Replies

I've got a several hours in the real level D 737NG simulator and have been flying the PMDG's MD-11 software for some time now and I just can't make myself believe that the NGX is going to outdo the MD-11 in it's total avionics systems and flight functionality. Yes, I'll buy the NGX when it comes out but I'll probably fly most of my time with the MD-11. I'm still learning new things about it's systems everyday since it originally came out. The 'System Display' on the MD is unsurpassed and I don't think the NGX can ever match it. I guess I'm a little disappointed in it taking so long but then again the MD-11 took almost 4 years and after immersing myself in it since it came out, I can definitely see why it took so long. I hope they prove me wrong, but I don't think they will. jack noulet

Regarding the displays, they are completely different on both aircraft. The MD-11 has an absolute wealth of information available to the pilots, where as the NG is more traditional. So no, the NGX will never match the MD-11 in terms of what you're talking about. Everyone has their preferences, personally I would rather be flying around in a NG anyday of the year compared to a MD-11 so for me the NG will surpass the MD-11 in every possible way. :(

If you look at it in the sense of a simulation of the real world aircraft, then the ngx will surpass the md-11. i'm 100% sure of that.

Did you guys put rain effects on the windows? I love it on the JS41 and on my RealAir Duke.

If 3D rendering and the limitations of FSX depiction are anything like doing repaints I feel bad for the devs. Not just PMDG but also the other ones out there that go to such great lengths for such detail. I know it will be incredible, but I also bet allot of the detail developers spend hours upon hours creating just doesn't get the justice it deserves. I look forward to the next gen of FS when the bar is raised again and more of the hard work and efforts some developers go that extra mile to show are better displayed.
