October 18, 201015 yr Slide that sucker all the way over to UNLIMITED- I gained another 25FPS!holy smoke! :Shocked:wish id known this months ago :)
October 18, 201015 yr It has been noted by flightsim guru NickN that flying with unlimited frames will help with FPS in payware planes in busy areas, or IMHO, any addon airport environment. The limiter at 24-30 is recommended for use in light a/c in less dense sceneries, where unlimited can result in high fps over 60fps but with the addition of stutters. In case you have never read his recommendations, see the following link for more guidelines for smooth flight. It's a long read and setup process, but is well worth the effort!http://www.simforums.com/Forums/topic29041_page1.html A.J. Domingo
October 19, 201015 yr SoozeeIf you are into gliding, and use CumulusX, I think you will find that using the frame rate limiter will 'kill' your thermal activity. Try it and tell us what happens?Phil
October 20, 201015 yr As you know, bojote says that you should limit the fps with using an external fps limiter(NOT FSX's, FSX's limiter should be set to UNLIMITED if you want fps).Or fsx will crash in some areas because it tries to load, and load, and load the scenery.By the way, do you know how to use ENBSeries Mod(d3d9.dll) with an external fps limiter? It seems that ENBSeries override the dll of the "FPS Limiter 0.2"(Limiter_D3D9.dll) and it won't work.Thanks.
October 21, 201015 yr Author SoozeeIf you are into gliding, and use CumulusX, I think you will find that using the frame rate limiter will 'kill' your thermal activity. Try it and tell us what happens?Philerrr Phil, Im kinda new to cumulusx and anytime i used it so far i cant find much in the way of thermals at all, however I know where i can get good lift with the standard thermals, would unlimited FPS kill these also?
October 26, 201015 yr Hi SooZeeWith CumuluisX, it emulates thermal conditions only when thermals would be generated in real-world conditions, so try setting your weather to fine, no upper cloud layers of cirrus, a few cumulus, bases at 5000', tops at 12000', season - summer, July/August and time of day, midday. Follow CumulusX install instructions precisely. When in FSX, go to the Addons menu and open CumulusX and make sure you have a green box against thermals. Go into the '3D world' and see if you have some very nice rounded fluffy cumulus. CumulusX clouds look different from the default fsx wispy cumulus, more rounded and solid looking. I was wrong about FPS Limiter and CumulusX - they work fine together.Phil

October 27, 201015 yr Slide that sucker all the way over to UNLIMITED- I gained another 25FPS!holy smoke! :Shocked:wish id known this months ago :)Are you referring to the Frame Rate Limiter application, or the Frame Rate Limit settings (slider) within FSX?You mentioned "Slide", but I thought I would ask just to be sure.
