October 22, 201015 yr HI I am new here and I want to know if anybody has or know where I can find a falcon 50 to work with FSX.. Thanks in Advance.. AACM
October 27, 201015 yr Nowhere. At least none that is even close to it. No matter if you are looking for the classic 50 or the EX, there just is none. There used to be a great one made by Yannik Lavigne back in the days of FS2K, I believe. Amazing, for back then. You won't find any good rendition of any of the series to my knowledge, I'm afraid. Unfortunately the Dassault line of products is completely underrepresented in the FS world.
October 27, 201015 yr Moderator Too many aircraft remain unrepresented, and even though I've had a Falcon 50 as a never-ending-WIP for several years now, I've simply got far too much work ahead of it to even begin to guess when -or even if- it might be completed... :( Fr. October 28, 201015 yr HI I am new here and I want to know if anybody has or know where I can find a falcon 50 to work with FSX.. Thanks in Advance.. AACMThere is a plane at: http://www.virtualairforce.ch/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=67:swiss-virtual-airforce--falcon 50&catid=42:swiss-virtual-airforce--aicrafts&Itemid=59It's Falcon50_2k4.zip. It's made for FS2004 and the model is old but it does fly in FSX. There is a Swiss Air Force paint job for it there too. The panel has a lot of FS98 gauges in it which won't work in FSX. I have modded the panel for FSX but still need a few gauges and switches for the overhead panel. Bob.

The 2D was pretty easy to swap new gauges using Panel Studio, but the VC had a lot of sections that were transparent, so it was relegated to the "Repair Hanger" for a possible later attempt. According to my notes, I could't find the transparency fix. Is there something I overlooked? Thanks...Don

I'll look at it again after I finish checking my various sites. Regards, Bob.Here is a screenshot of the VC. I don't see any problems:
November 1, 201015 yr and even though I've had a Falcon 50 as a never-ending-WIP for several years nowMe 2, some sort of... lol, still got tons of stuff lying around here, all unfinished. Too bad. Good shot btw Bob, kinda gives a Falcon feel at least. :(
November 2, 201015 yr Here is a screenshot of the VC. I don't see any problems:My VC is missing only the panel itself. The dash top and the rest of the interior are fine.I also downloaded it and the SAF textures again, thinking I may have a duff download. No Joy. I have Acceleration, maybe that's the problem.I was working on creating a set of gauges using the original gauge backgrounds until I couldn't find a fix for it.I put it back in FSX and when time permits I'll continue with making FSX gauges for it.The rest of the plane is too nice to abandon! Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated...Don
December 25, 201015 yr Falcon 50 Fans, I have Good News! After Ludovic Von Stroheim(SOH vonstroheim) pleaded convincingly, Eric Dantès has succumbed! He has agreed to a re-release of the real FS9 version. It is hosted by Aquitaine Simulation, a French Association, near the real Dassault factory. The FS9 plane and official release of our FSX upgrade/panel are available from: http://aquitaine.simulation.free.frOn the left side menu of the Aquitaine Simulation site:"Aide & Téléchargements"Click Téléchargements, the panel download window appearsClick Avions FS2004 for the original Eric Dantès Falcon 50 installerEven if you don't speak French, check out their site(I did the copy/paste thing with Google Translate so I could read the captions) I found it quite interesting.Merry Christmas...Don

Thanks. I added the missing map, ATC, and kneeboard Simicons, added the checklist and ref. files, and fixed the smoke. Great find. The panel is GREAT! Regards, Bob.

Regards, Bob.Bob, Thanks for the Kudos! Actually, I wasn't aware of a "smoke" issue. I'm an avionics guy, and don't get outside much! Would you mind sharing?I haven't used the release version of our panel very much(I have my own version), but will ask Ludovic(the driving force behind this) to revisit it for the icons and smoke(I thought a "fix" was already in his included aircraft.cfg, and I use my own).I'm still quite curious as to why your model displayed the VC properly! I've tried all of the available downloads with no difference.Until André (esmdu) at pilote-virtuel.com found the fix that we use in the panel.cfg, none of us could make it work...Don

The checklist and reference files were in the Docs folder in .txt form. I opened them in Word and saved them as .htm files and put them into the aircraft folder. I added the Simicons. The smoke system was remmed out in the aircraft.cfg so I looked at it and came up with:[smokesystem]smoke.0=-16.00, 0.0, 1.10, fx_eng_exhaust_grysmoke.1=-6.00, -5.0, 0.80, fx_eng_exhaust_grysmoke.2=-6.00, 5.0, 0.80, fx_eng_exhaust_gryI still am not completely happy with the effect as it is pretty light smoke but maybe the Falcon does not smoke much. I do not have any answer as to why my VC looks OK except maybe that I run SP1. Regards, Bob.

Light, dark, anywhere in between. I can make a rainbow of colors, but, I couldn't get it to blend with the contrail when at altitude and flying slow. The smoke follows the pitch attitude and looks weird. I can't get the rise temp, rate, and timing right.Nick Needham has an FS9 download here, "njs_final.zip"(a suite of smokes) that works great at altitude, blending well with the contrail. The drawback, for my cfg, is on the ground. I have my smoke triggered at above 5% throttle and 25% N1. Open the throttle on the ground, and until she gets moving at a pretty good clip, a big black cloud grows behind me! At taxi speeds THAT looks weird. If your smoke is off, on the deck, that might be the ticket for you...DonBTW, If you shut down your center engine in flight to save fuel, does the plane pull to the left?

Thanks for the info. I never did try shutting down the center engine. I'll try it next time I fly it. Regards, Bob.
