October 1, 200322 yr Can anything be done about the Green Ocean? I know in the Bahamas the ocean is green, but not in Southern California...It appears to happen in cloud cover.Barry
October 2, 200322 yr Barry,Under Scenery settings, select land only. You still get the waves on the beaches, but oceans have a more realistic dark blue colour. John
October 2, 200322 yr Hey John,I guess I am lost... Where exactly to you specify Land Only?I looked at the Scenery Library and Display dialog under scenery and I don't see a land only???Thanks!Barry
October 2, 200322 yr The textures detail slider has three settings: Left = None, Middle = Land only, Right = Land and Water [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
October 2, 200322 yr But this will automatically put the water effects to the highest value which has a huge negative impact on fps (approx 10 - 20 % less fps) - at least on my system.WolfgangP4 2.4 Ghz512MB DDRGeForce 3 Ti200Win XP Pro
October 2, 200322 yr There is an FS2004 Texture replacement for the ocean color in the Avsim library. Makes it much more realitstic, give it a try. No hit too FPS whatsoever.Joel
October 2, 200322 yr Hi Joel,If you're talking about the file "r_water0.zip" (Rogers Water) I found that while water textures do improve when flying low and when viewed from certain angles that produce nice reflections, at high altitudes on transoceanic flights I get this really weird squared pattern, sort of like the old desktop textures that came with earlier versions of windows. Definitelly a bummer. I reinstalled the original textures.Cheers,Mauricio
