Register Panel (gauge) in FSUIPC?

Featured Replies

I have recently installed the Aerodesigns A318 found here - http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=79773The file name is: ad318_ba.zip The aircraft seems to work fine.....EXCEPT the panel gauges do not seem to function. They are there, but they are not active. The documentation states: "The installer automatically installs the latest FS2004 version of Eric Marciano's excellent A320 panel. However, an extra step is required for the panel to work correctly:--COMPLETING THE PANEL INSTALLATION (Base Pack Only)*** You must download and install (if you haven't already) Peter Dowson's FSUIPC module for FS2004 (available from: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html ), and register Eric's panel with the following key:A320.gau - key: VSB5 4OK5 UVWNI have been using the freeware FSUIPC version 3.82.My question is, how and where do I register this panel/gauge to try to get it to work? What is the syntax? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.gwillmot

You need at least FSUIPC 3.98. 3.82 is very old.

If I "need" FSUIPC 3.98, then why does everything work for me using version 3.82....old or not?!One thing this old guy has learned is that you don't always "need" the latest version of everything (you can search for posts on video drivers for proof). There is much to say for the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy. That's why I have and will continue to stick with FS9 over that other version of MSFS.....even after my computer upgrade.gwillmot et. al.certifiedP.S. - What part of "Please Disregard" did you not understand?

From another old guy:It was just friendly advice in a public thread to inform others, not just you. If you are not running under O/S later than FS98 you're OK depending on your add-ons. FSUIPC upgrades for the revisions to the major version are free. They exist for added features but also may correct or provide work arounds for bug fixes found in FS as well as FSUIPC itself which may not be apparent. As an example one version, quickly withdrawn, provided the incorrect wind components back to the aircraft panel instruments when braking down wind vectors.I don't recall if FSUIPC 3.82 works with the FS9.1 patch, highly recommended, or not.Disregard if you like. Others might be interested.

Is FSUIPC 3.98 the latest version for fs2004? And FSUIPC 4.60 is for fsx only, correct?

If you go by the listings here, yes:http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlHowever there are some upgrades, some beta and some out here:http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules-19th-october-2010/Be sure to read the installation announcement at the top and then specific change notices on this page. Some application helpers (most recent) are here:http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs-24th-september-2010/Special interfaces, mainly for cockpit builders, are here:http://forum.simflight.com/topic/58711-lua-plug-in-facilities-in-fsuipc-15th-june-2010/Useful documentation including a tutorial is here:http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66137-documentation-24th-september-2010/This is all part of the support forum here:http://forum.simflight.com/forum/30-fsuipc-support-pete-dowson-modules/
