does anyone know why I would not have winter textures with orbx pnw and darrington? I have snow all over the ground except around the airport.

Well I don't have Darrington myself, but I do have PNW and several of the airports. You need to go into FTX Central and open the Control Panel icon for Darrington. I Know that in the Vashon airport Control Panel their are tick boxes to choose seasons. Steve

How is this "wrong information!"?? True maybe Darrington doesn't have this option, remember I said I DON'T have Darrington, but Vashon certainly does have tick boxes to choose seasons. And, if you read my post, I never said Darrington did have the option, I just gave info where he might look for an answer. There's nothing wrong with suggesting he seek help at FTX forums but the OP asked his question on THIS forum so I attempted to help him on THIS forum. Raymars' post was an attempt to help and so was mine. I really don't see your post as adding any useful additional info to the thread. Steve

Not everyone who asks for help here has stolen software. I have asked here before also.Damn, some people jump to conclusions way too fast.To the original poster: Seasonal options are not on the Darrington Control panel, but they are on the Vashon CP.

I think Valcor might be correct. I remenber reading that FTX bases snow textures on Altitude, i.e the snowline moves up and down down depending on temperatures so at a certain altitude their might not be snow. These non-snow textures depict 1 sq km areas, so it would be possible to see areas with zero snow surrounded by snow.I would quess that February or January is so cold there is no real snow line.Try that and see if it changes.UPDATE: The above info was dead on - This is from the forums where some asked exactly the same questions, and John at Orbx said:"Hard Winter is set to January for this area David. FTX seasons are not based on FSX ones, but are based on seasonal geodata which Holger Sandmann compiles for each region.So set the time to January and dail up the "Winter Wonderland" theme and enjoy!"

Thanks for the help. Now let me say this. The software is legit, and I am OFFENDED that is even suggested I asked here because there is a lot of useful information. Its a hell of a lot easier to post a quick question then spending hours searching. If someone doesnt agree with the question or has a smart &@($* answer, which my favorite is "Google is your friend and it found the answer in .001 seconds" then simply dont answer. How many times has someone posted here and someone else had the same problem and could post the resolution in .001seconds? Have you looked at the ftx forum? not much there. How do you know I didnt ask?Some on here have better things to do with our time then living on avsim. Ever tried using the search? 100 pages come up no matter the topic.
