Q and A time on the 737

Recommended Posts

The clocks go into manual mode?
On the right track there. If the clocks are in the UTC mode (which is the case almost 100% of the time) and you lose a GPS the clock will display --:--Jack C

System A:a standpipe in the reservoir prevents a total system fluid loss. Pressure is maintained by the electric motor driven pump.System B:the quantity decreases until pressure is lost.

I think maybe my wording was poor. What i meant was what happens to system A and B if the standby springs a leak but I think you will get it anyway!Jack C

Looking back it looks like I read to fast.It looks like nothing happens to system A as the PTU only connects standby and BSystem B will continue to operate normally but the reservoir level will decrease and should stabilize around 72% full.

This isn't really a specific 737 question but it is used in the 737 and many others#11 What variables determine what the cost index is that you input into the CDU?Jack C

Flight Mode Annunciations on the PFD?
You got er. Some people will look at the MCP panel but thats not the proper way. After all some lights on the MCP panel will exttinguish and some lights will remain illuminated. For example, you select HDG SEL and after doing so the green light on the bottom on the button will illuminate. When you arm the APP, the green light will illuminate as well but when it captures the light will extinguish. Which brings me to the next question.#12 What does the light on the bottom of the buttons (on the MCP panel described above) indicate?Jeez Dan. You must be the smartest sim pilot out there. You are the only one answering the questions!Jack
