Project Open Sky Airbus A332 - Problem with FS9

Featured Replies

I downloaded Project Open Sky Airbus A332 from AVSIM fileosFS9_A332V2.zip and IT SCREWED UP MY FS9!I got an "FSSound.dll" file error message upon starting FS9. Then after telling FS9 not to load this file, when I tried to start theAirbus I got another error message regarding "Gauges330.GAU" file. This locked up my computer totally. I found and removed the "Gauges330.GAU" file, and I was then able to load the Airbus but without a panel. I have Windows XP Pro operating system. I had to delete all the opensky files etc.I think you should let people know that this Airbus IS NOT C0MPATIBLE WITH FS9, and save the the trouble of a 55 minute download, and thennothing works properly.Stanner

LOL Within the aircraft file you downloaded there is a readme entitled "READ THIS OR HAVE ERRORS" This will fix the FSsound.dll problem. As far as the gauge thing, Have no problems here in FS9. I will admit, as do quite a few Posky members this is probably there worst install. There are a couple of posts here at avsim, by Posky members on install as well as over at the Posky Fourms on www.projectopensky.com

Thank you Supper Bee. As for the other gentleman, I did not see any installation instructions with the download, only and .exe file. However, thank you for your advise. Personnaly I prefer downloads which do not require tweeking files etc., in order to make the aircraft flyable as intended. Stanner

>See what happens when you skip the install instructions? >There there.. don't be so hard on him. :-) That readme wont be found unless you take a peek into the individual aircraft folders, like he said.I also spotted it by accident..

OMG WOULD YOU LIKE SOME CHEESE WITH THAT WHINE?Just because you dont know what the fssound module is for and you didnt allow fs to recognize it DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO COME AND BLAST THE PRODUCT. After the initial Error or problems DID YOU EVEN BOTHER TO CHECK THE AC Directories for a README??.(BTW that README EXPLAINED WHAT YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO DO).. OR Did you even GO TO POSKY's WEBSITE FOR THE FREE .. May i emphazise again FREE!! Product support. OR did you just GIVE UP AND DECIDE TO BLAST A PRODUCT YOU COULDNT PUT AN EFFORT IN TO INSTALL PROPERLY ??SHEESH!!!

The README is simple to find after installation..thousands of other people have no problems installing at all. :)

hmmm sometimes I just don't understand people. But you'll happily download it becauses it free, but when you find it requires a few minutes of time you install properly, you blow it off, claiming its not compatible. The release didn't go too smoothly, and yes, documents weren't the easiest to locate. If you're unsure about how to correctly install an item, wouldn't it make sense to check for some for of instruction?

I am with you John. You gentlemen provided something for free, and the required some work to make it work with FS9, and for some reason people think it is just so wrong to have to do some work on there own.:-abduct

To all of you gentlemen who took the trouble to reply, thank you.I, however, prefer to download a finished product. Apparently some of you enjoy hunting for hidden instructions, and surfing sites for "how to" hints in order to make something unworkable into a workable format. I do not. I also thank the open sky gentleman for his offer on installing the Airbus. I will wait until a complete package comes along, either payware or freeware for FS9. Finally, remember that atlthough this is a hobby, and passion, to some, in the final analysis it is just a game. Do not get so agitated with someone who considers the sim experience a game.Stanner
