Any news about Concorde for fs9???

Featured Replies

Anyone know anything about Concorde for fs9? I cant wait to fly this beautiful bird in fs9... I saw Concorde today at JFK, BEAUTIFUL! I'm going to JFK tomorrow to see this beautiful bird once again.........Jacek

The Mach 1 project Concorde that was released shortly before FS9 came out is GMAX so the model should work in FS9, might have some gauge probelsm, but a sweet plane nonetheless.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com

Jacek,I can also recommend the Mach2 Project - the best Concorde currently available. http://fsfrance.free.fr/Mach2/Main_eng.htmShe's a wonderful aircraft and will be sorely missed by aviation lovers the world over. I'm going to my local airport (Manchester, EGCC) on Wednesday to see her come in for one last commercial flight. G-BOAC flies in on Oct 31 and will be parked in the Aviation Viewing Park as a permanent exhibition. We are so lucky!Enjoy her tomorrow!

Thanks, I'm going to download it! Today (19th) I saw concorde two times, takeoff at 9am and landing at 1725.It was fantastic, especially takeoff, I was standing on the bridge, there were many people with cameras, scanners etc:D That's the schedule for JFK:BA001 - arrivals on 21st and 23rd October BA002 - departures on 20th, 22nd and 24th October I cant see 20th departure, as well as 21st arrival because of school.. but I'm going to see last arrival on 23rd (I'm going miss the school but... I love Concorde:-hah) and departures on 22nd and 24th.I will miss Her so much! ;( ;( ;( Jacek

We'll all miss Concorde, it'll be a BLACK day in the Aviation world when it's retired.

yes, oct. 24 will be a very sad day.I just installed PM2 Concorde, looks great but there is a problem with FDE in fs9, anyone know how to fix it?Jacek

No, we won't ALL miss Concorde.I live directly under the flightpath west of Heathrow, at the WOD ndb, and have suffered the horrendous noise and pollution of Concorde several times a day ever since she went into service. B707s and B727s were eventually denied access into so many airports because of their noise and so had to have hush kits fitted - but why was Concorde allowed to continue making more noise than a whole fleet of 727s?She was a technical wonder, that's for sure, considering she was designed and built in the 1960s. But only Air France and British Airways ever flew her and I suspect that there was some politcal pressure for this although I cannot now recall. If Concorde was so good why didn't other airlines want her? The fact is nobody really wanted her and most countries denied her supersonic capability in their airspace which somewhat negated the whole purpose of the aircraft. And now that she is being retired is there anything serious on the drawing board to replace her? I don't really know but I think that any future supersonic airliner is going to have to carry several hundred passengers to make it a financially viable venture. The case for exclusive, expensive air travel has gone as more and more airlines withdraw their first class service. So, this coming Friday it's goodbye an awful lot of noise and hello a bit of peace and quiet.David

Lets hope she passes WOD, very low and with full afterburner, just to say goodbye in style David. :-lol :-lol :-lol

Do you happen to know if the install program adds in the traffic or do I have to do this manualy there is no mention in the docs. It essentialy says install and go.

yes.. very very low with full afterburner! :( Jacek

There is a problem with FDE, I cant reach mach2. Anyone know how to fix that? if not... I will have to use fs2k2..Please Help!Jacek

All I can say David is if you live in such a location what do you expect :-)

G'day DavidGiven that you choose to live under the flight path for one of the worlds busiest airports i am afraid you get what you paid or are paying for.If you had chosen to live next to a railway line i am sure you would not be complaining about the noise from the trains!Living under a flightpath is exactly the same situation except the rails are invisible. The entire noise debate has gone out of control over the last 10 years and continues to do so.It causes airlines millions and millions of dollars in extra fuel costs not to mention upgrades for aircraft and threatens the jobs of untold thousands of people due to higher costs for carriers. All for the sake of those who chose to live knowingly under an approach path.So typical of our society these days.Protect the minority at the expense of the majority.Long live the Concorde!!

Hello Jacek,I have seen someone else state this same problem with this plane before. You did get the Project Mach 2 Concorde, right? Well, I just installed it and haven't flown it yet. But I just took a look a the .air file with William M. Roth's Air Edit program. You can get v1.52 of it here...http://members.dsl-only.net/~eagle/There is a record that is labled 'Mach' *Mmo= and the value for it is 2.06. Maybe if that were increased to a higher number then the plane would be able to reach a higher speed. But I don't know, and I don't know how that would effect the rest of this planes flight dynamics. I have never played with flight dynamics before, but I might try it out on this plane. If I do I'll back up that .air file first. ;) If you decide to play with it let us know what results you come up with. :)Jim

ok, thanks. I will try to do this.. I never played with FDE.. I will post the results soon..Jacek
