November 23, 201015 yr Commercial Member Hey guys I dont remember anyone saying anything about this recently so if this is a re-post, I apologize.I just downloaded the latest drivers for my Radeon HD4850 and holy cow. It just nearly doubled my FPS in bad weather. I was able to set my detailed cloud coverage density to maximum and this is what I'm getting:Weather: FSX Default "Heavy Thunderstorms" (using REX HD cloud textures)Airport: FSDT KJFKPlane: PMDG MD11 in the VCFPS: 22-30 on the ground, 40+ in the airWhats awesome is my overcast sky really looks overcast now. this is awesome!(Im also running Win7 64 with an i7 2.93 ghz and 5GB memory) Noah Bryant
November 23, 201015 yr Thanks for the heads-up.Does the anti-aliasing work in windowed mode with these Catalyst drivers? The last set that did were v10-7, and since then it has been broken.
November 23, 201015 yr Hi all, I've been able to have AA in windowed mode with Catalyst 10.11 disabling AA in Ati Tray Tools (I think in CCC is the same) and enabling AA in game only. My other setting are: Anisotropic on in ATT (8X quality) and Trilinear only in game, and lowering water effects to Low 2X I had a big increase in FPS in bad weather Mauro
November 24, 201015 yr Commercial Member I downloaded 8.791.0.0 this morning and indeed saw an awesome performance increase, especially with 3d clouds that have always plagued me. But, I too have had my aircraft now appear jagged in windowed mode despite what combination of AA settings I use. Full screen does not appear to have this issue. November 24, 201015 yr Huge performance increase related to clouds here as well with the latest driver using ATI 5870. I was also using bojote's shader3 tweak already but the driver still improved things drastically - pretty much the same FPS in heavy clouds as with 'clear skies' now.

November 24, 201015 yr Commercial Member Do either of the two of you run in windowed mode? (or also experience jagged edges on aircraft, runways, buildings) Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
