November 27, 201015 yr HiCan you help me please. I have German airports 3 installed and I fly Learnardo's Maddog in FS9. When coming into land at Bremen just before I touchdown the aircraft starts to twist and turn, I was about 200 ft just before tochdown and I finish up somewere on the grass or just about on the runway, but were ever I finish up and and I bring the aircraft under contol, even while taxing the aircraft keeps twisting to one side, really weird behavier . All of the other Aerosoft airport sceneries are ok its just this paticular Airport . I have just done a flight into FS Dreamteams Geneva and exactly the same thing happened there too, very frustrating as I am sure you can imagine. I dont think it is plane related as I have flown into many many addon sceneries over the years and never experienced this. Anyone give me any advice please.Thank youRegards Paul EGCC Regards Paul EGCC
November 28, 201015 yr Author Hi TeepsI am away from my flying machine at the moment but will check on that tomoz when I get home. Thanks for the advice Teeps. Any more advice out there wud be appreciated, I do think it is scenery related though. Regards PaulEGCC Regards Paul EGCC
November 28, 201015 yr Taxiing getting rough happened to me with a freeware scenery that modified the default AP (afcad type) files. The visual presentation of the runways and taxiways did not match and therefore they were out of place with an underlying mesh. This affected other airports in that region. Each AP file contains several airports. On another note I use Active Sky 6.5. Besides wake turbulence it creates vertical drafts over hills and ridges. Don't ask me how. It seems also too create air burbling on some approaches when a crosswind is present. If you are doing auto-lands especially be sure only afcad type files in your add-on scenery besides the default stock are active. If you have say a traffic program that installed afcad files for those same airports rename the extensions. The idea is to insure your add-on navaids are aligned with that scenery. If you are allowing the AP to follow a LOC or LLZ all the way in it is possible for the aircraft to chase the beam too close and it will start oscillating trying to make corrections. The same thing will happen if you are manually steering and give too much correction at one time. Finally with strong gusting winds present you can get twisting and turning. In this instance add half of the wind gust velocity to your recommended landing speed. This prevents effective stalling at your approach speed where aircraft maneuverability suffers. Run your tests with the clear weather theme and no weather program active and see how it goes.
November 29, 201015 yr Author Thanks for a very a very informative reply Ron, really appreciate your input. I have done a few landings in clear weather yesterday, no wind, various other weather settings through active sky environment and every landing as been ok up to now, I will go through my afcad files too, but I do think it is something to do with the weather/wind settings. I will do some more experimenting over the next few days & see how I get on. Again, many thanks for your advice, much appreciated. Regards PaulEGCC Regards Paul EGCC
