November 29, 201015 yr I made a flight then re-installed Ground environment pro. Now when I start FS9 the engine starts to spool up and then dies. I have used system restore to a point before the GE-PRO installation but to no avail. Before when I started up the engines would start and then I would shut them down as per the checklist and restart "dark and cold" I have went through the whole procedure as per check list and no help. Flying a PMDG NG but it does the same in the Cessna. Any ideas ? Jerry Sterner
November 29, 201015 yr I'd try binning the FSX configuration file and then loading up FS again so it can write a new one, then have a go with a default aircraft to see if that sorts it out.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
November 29, 201015 yr If you wish to start dark and cold set up a default aircraft twin parked at a ramp or gate for the things you want off. When you are satisfied with this save the flight as default. The default flight initializes the FS system and that for a moment occurs until your created or selected flight loads.

What if we own third-party scenery for a specific airport?Dave. November 30, 201015 yr For the default flight the airport does not matter however some add-ons use animated vehicles, etc., that could take longer to load in the background before your flight loads. For your default flight I highly recommend you use the Clear Weather Theme as many weather add-ons require that. A default turbo-prop would be the best choice so you can configure the initial parked condition as you like such as electrical systems - battery, generator switches, etc. set for your CD&D startup. Add-on aircraft like PMDG models go outside of the standard FS aircraft control interface (SDK) specifications and would not probably initialise FS correctly. In fact PMDG states to first load the Cessna 172 before loading their models which can be accomplished as described for setting up the default flight.
