November 30, 201015 yr Hello all,After flying a lot of Boeing I decided to give Airbus a try. I was also looking into payware, but decided to go with Project Airbus (A318, A19 and A329) and the Ken Mitchell panel. After some test flights I still have some questions:- The aircraft does not come of the ground easily. Also when trimming the aircraft (3) it goes a bit easier but still not smooth enough. I pull the stick (keyboard in my case) and when the aircraft finally takes off it gets a dramatical vertical speed (3000+), I think due to the fact I'm pulling too hard...- Also when engaging the autothrottle after take-off it does not always seems to respond,. What is the correct procedure with KM's panel?- When on final 'Approach' engaged, I want to fly the last part manually. So I disconnect the autopilot causing the plane to dive... Because the aircraft does not respond quickly it is hard to land.Any help appreciated!
November 30, 201015 yr Author Sounds like you're overweight.I changed the fuel to about 50% before the flight, and did nothing about the pax/cargo.
November 30, 201015 yr Hello,No probs here .... with pratically max fuel (I use a HOTAS!)http://simtube.com/video/3558/A320-ILS-Landing-at-MRURegards.Gus.
November 30, 201015 yr Author Hi Gus,Don't you experience heavy steering with the PA Airbus? And after disconnecting the autopilot, does the aircraft fall down?
November 30, 201015 yr Author I'm beginning to doubt you're using our FDE.Can you please tell me which FDE you are reffering to? At this time I am using an FDE with came with a repaint I downloaded...
November 30, 201015 yr Project Airbus' FDE. Here's the official A320 FDE: http://www.pairbus.com/esg/release%20fde-june.zip
November 30, 201015 yr Author Thanks, I will try them out! I noticed this is only for the A320. Do you have similar files for the A318 and A319? Is this the latest version everyone is using?
November 30, 201015 yr Thanks, I will try them out! I noticed this is only for the A320. Do you have similar files for teh A318 and A319? Is this the latest version everyone is using? The AIR files are the same. Take the CFG from from one of the official paints. Yes.
November 30, 201015 yr Author I have checked this for the A318 I have downloaded and unfortunately it is the same version (june 2007)... Is there anything else I can check in regarding to:- heavy steering in air (when rotating after take-off)- dive after disconnecting autopilot
November 30, 201015 yr Hello, - heavy steering in air (when rotating after take-off)- dive after disconnecting autopilotDon't have all those probs ... I swear :( They fly smoothly ...In the video I disconnect the AP when callout 200 feet and I don't need to make any correction with trim or elevator before the flare ...Again .. remind I use a joystick ... not the keyboard ... and this can make a difference how you able to manage the plane(s)Regards.Gus.
November 30, 201015 yr HelloI only have freeware aircraft and have used both IFDGs and PA Airbuses.I also have a large selection of Eric Cantu's smaller Boeing's.(as a comparison)I don't know whether the sim models reflect there real world equivalents performance wise ,but both PA and IFDG buses seem underpowered in comparison to the Boeing's .They have to be coaxed fairly carefully into the air,and can take a long time to reach cruising altitude(this with correct fuel and passenger/cargo loads )I have flown these models for so long now that I have mastered the technique) and enjoy using PAs now.The IFDGs on the other hand always seem a bit hardish on my framerates for some reason, and I no longer use them. The Cantu (Vistaliners etc.)Boeings are in contrast very easy to get of the ground and climb in a powerful and relaxed manner right up (with nice low N1 figures) to cruising alt.. Hope this comparison is some help.PS When I first tried Airbuses years ago my most common mistake was stalling on takeoff (underpowered? or realistic?) Cantu (Overpowered? or realistic)PPS I to used to have the problem of auto-throttle not always engaging with the Ken Mitchell panel as well.I can't remember what I did,but I no longer have issues with it. I seem to remember something about when entering your take-off climb max speed (250kts) into the AP make sure the IAS indicator(little green light) is not on as well at this time and then you should have no problems when switching to(IAS) Athrot. at the appropriate time.Try to make sure you have the latest(last Ken Mitchell panel) as well.Check the panels downloads here as a start there may be updates or the latest one available.AndyPPS as to the plane going out of control on disengagement of AT/AP on approach it sounds like a problem with trimming.I never have trouble landing the PA buses on disengagement of AP/AT for landing .
November 30, 201015 yr Just noticed you use the keyboard. That could well be a factor in your trouble's.You REALLY should get a joystick its so much easier and much more pleasurable when using FS.If you have spent loads of Wonga on a PC monitor ete etc then a few quid/dollars on a joystick is a small price to pay for a MUCH better FS experience.AndyThe same
December 1, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the replies so far!First of all I am happy using the keyboard, and no issues with other A/C... If this issue does not occur at other users machines I guess I'll have to live with it.
