December 8, 201015 yr Author May I ask what's the benefit for you as a tweaker? It's more a way to protect my investment (time and money) into something that is *supported* and where I can ask a developer a question and get an answer like Beau in the Prepar3D forums is doing.I also have my own add-ons for FSX, audio checklist module, a video recorder, custom shaders, a d3d wrapper for bloom effects a simconnect console app to inject objects etc etc, so should I keep developing this for FSX or into a platform that I know *IS* supported today? So, as a 'tweaker' there is no benefit, as a developer well.. I already answered that question.
December 8, 201015 yr Moderator Client licenses are $499. The price for the Prepar3d Developer Network (PDN) subscription is $9.95/month.Regards, Mike MannMike, it is critical to note that a developer doesn't have to purchase the "Client license" at all. Only his/her "clients" would need that, assuming that the developer had any "clients" at all that is... :( Fr. December 8, 201015 yr Author So let me get this right... BP=0 is now an "official" tweak? You make it sound as if it was snake oil or something... ;)David Roch deserves the credit for making it 'official' even BEFORE Lockheed Martin :) trust your Avsim moderators...and the BP=0 research refers to 'all' the tweaks. Not just the BufferPools one. Check the Prepar3D help file on improving performance.
December 8, 201015 yr You make it sound as if it was snake oil or something... ;)Maybe, maybe not... But I get excellent performance to begin with... My original understanding of the tweak was that it bypasses/defeats the resource management built in to the game which seemed counterproductive. I just assume Microsoft would have tested that case throughly but it obviously wasn't. However the only problem now seems to be that FSX might have a lot of code that depends on the current system staying intact. And unfortunately my experience with BP=0 is that it's slow to respond leaving black boxes. Either way I see the merit, so good work!
