February 6, 201115 yr Hmm - just reading the information on the Wilco website regarding the new "Evolution" version of the airbuses: Airbus Series Evolution requires Microsoft Flight Simulator X or 2004 to run.Airbus Series Evolution is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP 32 bits, Vista 32 bits, Seven 32-64 bits. All aircraft liveries previously installed must be reinstalled after Airbus Series Evolution installation. I will be interested to see if this new version does, in fact, correct this issue on 64 bit systems. Graeme Butler
February 24, 201115 yr I don't have 64-bit Windows, just 32-bit Win7 and I used to get the CTD's with .gau errors regularly. I fixed it by turning off all the Microsoft 'security' dross (UAC and such) and never had a problem since (except perhaps the memory leak as I get 'out of memory' crashes after long sessions). I now find Windows gets in my way (slightly) less, and while it's arguably less secure (compensated by an effective firewall, antivirus & spyware suite, and common sense), if I was that concerned about security I'd use a proper OS in the first place. No guarentee it will fix the 64-bit CTD issue, but might be worth a try? I'd not hold out too much hope for the Wilco Evolution upgrade - as far as I can make out it's just Eric Marciano's patch plus a weather radar & HUD. I already have EM's fix and it didn't affect the CTD issues.
March 2, 201115 yr I don't have any antivirus installed on my main station at all. And never had. I'm safe behind the router, browsing from my networked clients only. I have a consistent memory leak with wilco's airbus loaded both in WinXP-64 and Win7-64.Dirk.
