Open Clouds Problem

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I found here on the forum a little programm called "Open Clouds". Heard good things about, so I gave it a try, downloaded and installed it as mentioned. But unfortunately it deosn´t work. Whenether I push the connect button, a screen appears, asking me wheather I have service pack 2 installed, cause simconnect.dll seems to be missing. After checking that the simconnect.dll is where it has to be, I´m on the end of my computer knowlage.Does anyone get something similar?P.S.: Is it worth to mention that I´ve installed the sp 2 by hand, means that I had to extract everything and rerwite the whole data endings and copyin them in the right folders. I had to do so, cause sp 2 didn´t install automaticly, giving me some " Service Pack 1 not found" messages. but I have to say that my installation went fine I never had any troubles with sp 2 problems.

Best regards, Steffen

You need to start over and install FSX SP1 first, then SP2

Jay

Simconnect from SP2 never got installed and cannot be manually installed. You could use the SDK though to install it.

But in the SP 2 package there was an folder called simconnect, with all the simconnect related dll´s in it.
Please install Simconnect from here.http://www.fsopen.co.../SimConnect.msi
But I might give it a try.

Your FSX and related files are not installed correctly. You need to properly uninstall FSX, reinstall FSX and then properly update with SP1 and SP2.

If I have to make a complete reinstall, I will forget Open Coluds. This will take too long.

Hello Superpilotv2,I understand it will be frustrating to have to go through the whole re-install procedure, but if simconnect is not properly installed you will experience with other add-ons that are using simconnect.Jean-Jacques

Did you ever install SP1?If not then you are missing some updates as SP2 does not contain fixes from sp1. If you have not installed sp1 then I strongly recommend reinstalling fsx then sp1 then sp2.

Everything is all right and open clouds is now working again. But I´m not knowing what I´ve changed to make it working again, it´s a kind of mystery.
