October 27, 200322 yr Hi All,Tonight, FS9 decided to re-index my scenery files for no apparent reason. Normally that only occurs when I make scenery file changes and I haven't done that in several weeks. The only cause I could think of was the change from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time on Sunday Morning (in the U.S.). Has anyone else experienced this?Regards,Marc
October 27, 200322 yr hmmm, I did too. I kinda forgot about it, thinking it was just another ms anomaly, but it could be the time change...billg
October 27, 200322 yr I think the original poster is correct. I experienced the same phenomenon in both FS2004 and FS2002. Too much of a coincidence, don't you think?Mike
October 27, 200322 yr Same thing here. I don't remember adding any scenery or traffic at that time. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
October 27, 200322 yr No, I didn't make any changes. I think the time change triggered it.I suppose someone could set the date back on their system, restart FS9 and then reset the date to current to try it out, but I don't think it's worth the effort.
October 27, 200322 yr Same here in Western Europe: in the night from Saturday to Sunday there was a change from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time. The first time a started FS2004 on Sunday, the scenery files were re-indexed. And I am absolutely sure that I did not add or change any scenery lately. Strange indeed.Jozef http://www.dse.nl/~joker32/pictures/signature.jpg
October 27, 200322 yr same happened here! I was wondering too, but didnt pay too much attention.I'm in germany, and the time switched too. And i didnt install something new before as well.I wonder now, what sense this makes!!??-Michael
October 27, 200322 yr I too had the same thing happen and wondered what was going on. At least I know it wasn't just me now. Guess we'll all know what to expect now when the time switches back from Daylight Savings to Standard.Jim
October 27, 200322 yr But why would that happen? What does a time change have to do with the scenery database?Michael
October 27, 200322 yr I had the same thing happen after the switch to standars time. The problem is now that FS2004 seems to be stuck in DST. For example my timezone, Atlantic, is UTC-3 in DST and UTC-4 in Standard time.FS2004 is still showing only a 3 hour difference between UT and local time despite my system time being properly. I have FS2004 set to use system time.I've tried deleting FS9.cfg and my saved default flight with no success.Anyone else having this problem or know of a solution for this?
October 28, 200322 yr I had the same thing happen to me also. I was going to ask about it,but now i have the answer before asking! OK, I can live with it I guess !! Johnnyvk
October 28, 200322 yr Darn all... this happened to me and I was wondering what was going on but I didn't associate it with the time change. However, it was my first time to run FS9 since we went back to Standard time.It probably is either a little bug that got through testing or, for some unknown reason, MS made some changes to scenery or traffic with the time change. I'll go with the bug but it is still strange.I'll have to check for the sticky DST as mentioned above but I use RealTime and it might make the necessary corrections.
