Adding TCAS

Featured Replies

Hey. I wanna add Lee Hetherington's TCAS to my panel. I know that there is a config with TCAS, but this config is for ISG+TCAS, and I do not own ISG package. So someone has TCAS configuration for the basic SP177 panel? Thanks.

As far as I know his TCAS will fit any panel. I have installed it on the VC10.vololiberista

Yes, its TCAS fits any aircraft, but I wanna know if there is any panel.cfg file for the Tinmouse, to add the TCAS.

bar,If you look at the panel.cfg for the SP177 you will see that provisions for the TCAS are already in that config. You simply have to remove slashes from one pair of bitmaps, add slashes to another and then add the TCAS Gauge at the end of the gauges list. That's the panel I'm using and it work very well. The instructions at the top of the config file explain the process. You can look at it with notepad.Randy Edit: However, I do have a question for Col Scott. I have Lee's TCAS installed and the gauge appears in the aircraft panel, however, the clickspots in the four corners as mentioned by Lee in his instructions do not work, with one exception. I can left click to the upper left corner to do a TCAS Test and get the proper "TCAS Tests Okay" reponse. I can not continue to left click this hotspot to get XPNDR, TA, or RA to appear and the screen stays at the Test Screen. If I right click this spot the TCAS turns off.TCAS.jpgNone of the other corner hotspots work. Neither does the transponder gauge appear anywhere. Here are the lines from my panel.cfg file://gauge05=B732ADV!vsi, 399, 774, 131, 131 //round dial VVIgauge05=ILH_TCAS!IVSIb, 393,769,142,142, pic:no //VVI/TCAS, requires all "ILH" gauges //NOT compatible with ISG TCAS And here is the gauge logic line:gauge67=ILH_TCAS!Logic,1,5,1,1//gauge67=ILH_TCAS!Logic,0,0,1,1

Thanks! I managed to add the TCAS! I also added the TCAS's transponder instead of the Tinmouse default transponder.

You have to have the transponder gauge active as well. In my TCAS config, in the Window07 section of the panel.cfg (the upper radio window) I have this line in place of the "stock" TinMouse transponder gauge:gauge01=ILH_TCAS!Transponder, 674, 227, 301, 136, pic:noWithout this gauge active, the TCAS no worky...RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

The installation documents for TM II 1.3 state that the Lee's TCAS will now work in FSX due to a known bug. Question, what other options are there for adding TCAS to TM II's FSX panel? Thanks,Rich

That did it, thank you sir. Indeed...and I can't say this enough...a truly awesome work of art the Tinmouse. My continued thanks and admiration.Randy

You can use Lee's TCAS gauge in FSX, but if you resize a window or switch between windowed and full-screen mode, it'll CTD immediately.Probably the safest way would be to get into FS in full-screen and then load a mouse config with the ILH gauge configured into it, with the understanding that ALT-Enter will be an instant trip to CTD heaven. In windowed mode, if you accidentally grab a screen edge and re-size the window by so much as one pixel, you're done.As for other FSX options...the ISG glass gauges have the same logic built-in, but that'd require replacing the mechanical HSI with the glass one from ISG, plus adding a control panel. I don't know of any other options.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO
