October 28, 200322 yr Why do i see files with several thousand d/loads and then the file gets yanked off the site?Im just curious why uploaded files come and go so quickly??Thanks for your comments, if you have time.Rich
October 29, 200322 yr I have been around on this site for quite awhile now, actuall too long :-)You will see this happen for several reasons, like the producer had a falling out with AVSIM, or there is a copyright violation discovered after the fact. I have also seen this with a bad file that the producer asked for it to be removed to be fixed (somtimes fixed, somtime not).I had a few repaints that I did for the PSS Dash8 product. I loaded here and then a day later asked for them to be removed when I was contacted by PSS for posting on their user download site - no problem (actually worked out better).hope this helps. October 29, 200322 yr Actually the number of files pulled is very small except in the rare occasion of an Avsim -- developer dispute. Otherwise it's normally due to an error in the file that the developers asks for it to be pulled.I download the entire Avsim week's "production" and process it through a small utility program that lets me find those one-off files when I need to D/L one or point someone else to it.Usually between 200 and 250 files are added every week (that interest me) and only about 5 to 15 get deleted. I collect info on FS2002 and FS2004 so that covers the majority of the activity. Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what

October 29, 200322 yr I was wondering the same thing. Over three thousand downloads each, and they were all pulled. What did i miss out on!? [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
October 29, 200322 yr How many licks does it take to get to the center of a lollipop? A one, a two, a three... CRUNCH! The world may never know. :-laugh1Jim
October 29, 200322 yr It could have been the POSKY A330 v2 which was posted and pulled.Lots of people snagged the original version before it was yanked due to a developer disagreement, but that was sorted out and it was placed back up. They probably couldn't use the same download ID, so the "deleted" download still exists on the database.-Greg
October 29, 200322 yr Hold on thar Partner;) I didn't say I actually DOWNLOADED all of those files -- just that I collect data in certain areas and then D/L only a few. It appears I ommitted a small phrase while editing the post. What I download is the weekly Avsim File dump in text format. Comes out every Sunday morning. This is just a listing of the locational data. Sorry to scare anyone. :)The database makes searches for the older stuff a whole lot easier as I can do it off line and then go directly to the Avsim file I'm interested in with a click of the mouse.I'm on a cable modem so access isn't an issue for me but for y'all dialup folks this would make search efforts a whole lot less frustrating.Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
