need help troubleshooting speech recognition in windows 7

Featured Replies

Hello, I purchased the maddog version if fs2crew for the maddog 2010. I was reading the manual and it says to set up speech recognition in windows 7. When I go to do that, my computer doesn't 'hear' me. I don't get it because when i go to the sound recorder in w7, the microphone works fine. I know the problem doesn't lie within fs2crew, but rather w7. 'i was just hoping you could help trouble shoot this issue. Do I need to download anything from Microsoft or do I need a new microphone?

Hi,If you're using Windows 7, speech recognition is built in.It needs to be set to English - US, not English - UK or AU.Are you using an English version of Win 7?You should run the Voice training. In the 'Search' box in the Windows Start menu, type "speech recognition".That's the easiest way to find the Windows Speech Recognition Page.Best,

I Am using an english version of windows 7. I live in the states so it is set to english us. My problem is when i go to training or mic config or speech recognition config....my computer wont pic up anything through mg mic. However if i use the basic sound recorder that comes with windows,my mic worksbfine and my computer picks up everything.

Hi,If your computer isn't picking up your mic when you're running the Microsoft Voice Training, you're going to need to check your Microphone settings in the Control Panel.Something is not right somewhere.Cheers,
