January 2, 201115 yr HiAbout a week ago Superpilotv2 posted a link to some scenery by Akesoft for Valenica in Spain.Post here http://forum.avsim.net/topic/322257-akesoft-valencia/page__p__1902816__hl__akesoft__fromsearch__1#entry1902816I have been trying to install this scenery for a while now but I can not get it to work and was hoping someone could tell me where I am going wrong.I have run the installer and installed it to this location D:\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\AKESOFT VALENCIA-X FSXI have then placed the file LEVC_ADE9_ADE_ALT.BGL in to this folder D:\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\WorldI then run FSX and goto scenery library and it does not appear in the list. So I have then tried selecting "add area" which opens up a box called "select scenery directory" I have tried pointing this to various obvious locations but whatever I do it says no items match your search in the white area and I can not get the scenery to show in the list of scenery or to work in the sim.Has anyone got any ideas please as this Airport is important for me to get working but I can not. Thanks in advance Keithy George
January 2, 201115 yr Here is a tutorial for adding scenery to Win7http://forums.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?205432-Windows-7-Scenery-Addon-Installation-Bug-FixSubstitute the folder for the scenery that you want to add for the FlyTampa folder shown in the tutorial.Make sure that AKESOFT VALENCIA-X FSX is in the Addon Scenery folder and make sure that the AKESOFT VALENCIA-X FSX folder has two folders in it, one named scenery and the other named texture. In case you have not already, completely disable UAC in Win7. After you get the scenery added you can enable UAC if you want.

I unzipped the package to a temporary folder first. Then in that temporary folder I created another temporary folder and directed the auto installer to install it there - rather than into my FSX setup. I simply do not "trust" auto installers as too often they place files incorrectly and/or overwrite important files.b. I then manually placed a copy of the folder named AKESOFT VALENCIA-X FSX in my Flight Simulator X/Addon scenery folder.c. As this is a FSX setup, it was NOT necessary to do anything with the file named LEVC_ADE9_ADE_ALT.BGL. That is only used if the enhancement is being installed into a FS2004 setup - at least that is what I understand from the documentation.d. I was then able to activate (add) the entry in the FSX Scenery Library dialogue by navigating to the Addon scenery folder and selecting AKESOFT VALENCIA-X FSX.If you are using Win 7 - there are two possible issues:a. To run the auto-installer (even to direct it to a temp folder as I did) you may have to Right click on the exe file and under compatibility set it to "run as adminstrator". You may also need to temporarily turn off UAC (User Account Control) while making edits and/or installing the scenery. All that is due to the "permission" issues which are well know in Win 7 and Vista also.b. To add (activate) the entry, follow the instructions here:http://forums.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?t=205432Also a good video:http://iblueyonder.com/video-tutorial-adding-scenery-to-fsx-in-windows-7/There is a known "bug" in Win 7 which requires a slightly different procedure when adding to the scenery library.Hope that helps - it is a rather nice looking enhancement.
