January 3, 201115 yr So my earlier issue of high baro pressures causing RC4 to bark at me for busting altitude was resolved by adjusting the variable of altitude from 300 feet to 500 feet. Now I have another interesting situation. In 3 of the last 4 flights, RC4 has purposefully delayed my approach for either 'flight separation' issues or 'congestion'. One such flight was at 12:30am and there wasn't ANY traffic inbound to KAUS at that time. Today on a flight to KHOU I was given vectors as a delay then basically forgotten about until I was more than half way back to the DFW area. Is there a config file somewhere I can adjust to prevent RC4 from delaying me like that? Yes, I have UT2 installed.. and have for the better part of a year without RC4 ever complaining like this. I know this is probably a 'realistic' feature of RC4 and others might state this is the way it's really done... but honestly, I've flown commercially for over 6 years and only had to race track due to weather twice. I'd rather disable and use my own traffic separation add-ons to ensure there isn't any stack ups rather than relying on RC4 to figure out what AI is doing.
January 3, 201115 yr Do you have text display set to on in the options menu of RC? I found that with this setting on, on my machine that ATC took way too long to interact with me Gavin Price

January 3, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the details! I inspected my UT2 settings tonight and for some reason an upgrade to the schedules reset my traffic levels to 100%. This explains the holds, so I adjusted the settings and lowered the saturation. I'll swing another flight tomorrow and see if RC4 puts me in another holding pattern.
