January 9, 201115 yr Just downloaded the demo of version 6 for fsx.Did the training for the voice and created a flight with flight plan. When i get to the cockpit and bring up the voxatc window and click enable, it does the voice tests and then says voxatc v6 Then it popos up in the lillte window saying "fatal error! disable voxatc"This happens after a few seconds when it's initialized. I can't get it past this point. If that makes any difference, I am using PMDG 747x, ASE for weather, I have traffic in FSX disabled and set to 100% in voxatc setup, using Mytraffix X v5.3a and the traffic is showing up fine, just can't get voxatc to work.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Mark.

Once I installed and ran the freeware VoxPop voices with VoxATC and my previous SAPI voices with my other app, I've only seen a fatal error once. You might check to see if you have an error log - if you're running Vista or newer look for \users\ [my username] \AppData\Roaming\Internal Workings\VoxATC X\err.log. It's a text file and you can see what is says and perhaps email the developers. The steps I perform to run VA is1. Run FSX2. Load or generate a PLN3. Save my flight (usually overwriting the same "dummy saved flight" each time)4. Load the VA panel and click Enable

But if you haven't alread, email the log to the developers along with a explanation or a pointer to this thread.Good luck - I was ready to give up on VA after less than a week but I'm glad I stuck with it.

Yea I emailed them so I'll see what they say.If it works well I'll happily buy the version with the extra quality voice packs. just need to get it to work first though and test it out :)Thanks,Mark.
January 10, 201115 yr Author Hmmm. Just listened to the voxpop voices on the site and they don't sound very good. Sounds like Stephen Hawking is your controller.I really wanna get it working with some proper voices, as the robotic thing is what put me off trying it in the past.
January 10, 201115 yr Mark,I for one welcome our robotic overlords. :( Cepstral (I think that's the name) offers some of their voices to run in a type of "demo mode" where they will constantly insert things like "this voice is not licensed. visit [the website] for details." into the output. You'll be ready to bash your speakers after 20 minutes of that but for a proof-of-concept it might help.Of course if the issue is in how VA is working with your PC's SAPI drivers (?? or whatever SAPI uses) then any OS-based SAPI voice might exhibit the same problem. I just browsed the site and saw no new "buy it" notice. However I stand to be corrected.....Regards,

I just browsed the site and saw no new "buy it" notice. However I stand to be corrected.....Regards,The only way to get the AT&T voices with VoxATC is to purchase the Deluxe DVD version for $128 USD. At one time you could purchase the voices directly from www.nextup.com. I just looked at their website and it appears you might have to also purchase their TextAloud product to qualify for their AT&T prices. The voices are listed at $25 for the base speech engine with a male and female 16khz voice. You would then need to purchase an additional male and female voice at $35 each. If you want to use the AT&T voices the VoxATC DVD would be the best way to go.
