Problems with selected colour when using Paint kit

Featured Replies

I am doing a repaint of the Project Airbus A380 using their paint kit and Gimp 2.6, but when I select a colour and paint a part of the fuselage area the colour appears a different shade of the selected colour , but if I use the colour picker it appears as the correct colour!!

The color could be affected by layer blending modes and/or layers over your paint layer. What happens if you make your layer the only visible layer?regards,Joe

Thanks Joe, it makes no difference and if I save it as an bmp it is the same . The file I am using is the A380_fuse_base_for_GIMP.psd .

Make sure you are painting on the layer named 'bg' (second from bottom).

I am painting on the "bg" layer and have now found out that all the paint kit files are affected and not just the "fuse_base" file. It is really annoying as I have already painted ( a few hours work!! ) the tail fin!! and then to find out that the rest of the paint kit is not working correctly is more than annoying.

All the textures carry a mask; you need to compensate for it

Youre right the layer mask does effect the colours and if the mask is hidden the real colour is shown. What does the mask do? it dosnt seem do do anything on the base fuse texture were only the fuselage is shown!
